Isabella

I kept Isabella for just a little while today. First thing she did when her Mom left….brought me my shoes and went to the back door and pointed. Aww, Cutie Pie!

But, we had to go to the post office and then on to Target. She was so good! We had a good time together.  Just to short of a visit.

We rode by the barn to talk to Papa a minute----she was wanting to get out of her car seat and go to him, but he was working and we had to get on our errands!!!

I remembered something that was due  today so I did not get to visit with her or her Mom quite as long as I would have liked! We will do it again!!!

Sunday Lunch

Well, we decided we would cook today…faint! WB went and bought a ham, I made rice, peas, mac and cheese and hot pineapple  dish. During the school year it is difficult to eat in the evening due to school days for one little girl at this time. It got us through another meal and we are thankful!

The afternoon was filled with laughing, screaming, fighting kiddo’s and poopie  diapers and bottles!

An alligator hunt! A golf cart ride which we were blessed to see two deer yearlings. I was so shocked and wanted Cayden to see them that all I could do was gasp with my mouth wide open. I knew if I had talked it would have scared them worse than they were. Cayla thought I was having a heart attack. LOL!!! She was saying, What, what!!!   Cayden did see them and I don’t think he knew what to make of them!!! He was pointing with his mouth wide open…lol!!!

A blessed day!

The Girls

I kept the girls today, Bart and Casey had a garage sale. Kylie spent the night with us and when Isabella sleeps through the night…..she will get her turn!!! LOL! She must be kin to her Mama J!

Casey brought her bright and early. (I had gone to the little room because someone was sleeping side ways in the bed!) In comes Casey and Isabella. She put her in the double bed with me and she may have slept just a little. Next, Kylie came and joined us…now there are three in the bed. And no one is wanting to sleep but me!!! We got up and started the day and boy are these two busy bee’s!!! Playing on the back porch, riding on the golf cart, eating, watching a little cartoons and lunch at the barn. Yes, my sweet hubby cooked lunch for us! He is the best!!!   Isabella was stuck to him like glue, again!!!

Isabella got sleepy and I told her to get on the couch and take her a nap…and she did just that! I put some pillows down in case she rolled off. That was not good enough for Mama Kylie…she had to put more, she did not want her to hurt her head! Sweet sister!!!

Then, had a date with the hubby!  A fun day!

Ocular Migraines

Yes, that is what happened this am. Have never heard of this, but it scared us. Having Amblyopia in one eye, and then the other eye begins not seeing clear-------makes for a sure fire panic.

I was finishing up Cayden’s feeding of  himself with runny grits, standing at the sink. I looked over at him and I could not see him clearly. It was not really fuzzy, it was like trying to see though the color-- dark gray. I was like, okay I am not seeing him. Then I looked at the wall and it had a  streak about 2 inches wide, long and curved. It was like  wavy line, colorful and reflective or moving. Okay, this is weird…but I was wiping off and cleaning counter tops. I went to read the back label to see what I could use this cleaner for and…….I could not see the first part of the word. PANIC!!! I really thought---am I getting Amblyopia in this eye? Is this the onset of it? I called the doctor and got in with him at Lake Park today and he was leaving early. It is 10:30 and I need to be there at 11:15, I have Cayden.

I called WB, told him to get home that I had a problem.

All I could think was: I will not be able to see my sweet grandbabies precious faces,   my son get married next year,  I will be a burden on everyone and no more picture taking! And the list went on, but these popped in first. I prayed that it be something else! That I would be able to handle it emotionally, no matter what….that is skeptical at this point!!! LOL!!!

Called Susie to keep Cayden, jumped in the truck and headed to Lake Park. I really think he needs to drive faster, but he thinks he is going fast enough!!! WB dropped me off and took Cayden to his Meme and Poppy’s.

As I sat there, it took all I had to hold back the tears. Having almost no vision in one eye has been dealt with all my life and I can handle that and its okay. But, this brings on a whole new worry! Oh the things that went through my head!

Doc checked out my eyes and told me that I had eye migraines. Okay, what is that? He explained it and WB got back in time to hear all of that…… What did we say??? Thank goodness!!!

I am sure some people would hate to know that they have this. (I have to chuckle at our response as I am looking back over this event!!!) But, I must say that I am feeling blessed that this is the worst of it. Blessed to have ocular migraines, yes in deed!!!

The good thing is they usually do not last but up to thirty minutes as far as the vision……they are migraines with out the pain….but I have had a headache today…hmmm!!! He told me it could happen while I am driving and that I would just have to pull over until it went away, boo for that part! He also told me that it was probably happening in my bad eye, but that I can see well enough to tell it. I agreed and told him, that was for sure…who knows what they eye is doing….he laughed!!!

He assures me this is genetic and if I dig far enough, I will find someone else in the family that has it! I think I found her!!! But, she has not told her eye Dr. about it!!!

Triggers for this migraine include: cigarette smoke, perfume and other strong odors, glaring or flickering lights, lack of sleep and emotional stress! It is not my cigarette smoke or perfume for sure….don’t smoke and nor wear! Some of the other’s-----possibility! Other Triggers----Choclate-busted, caffeine-busted, aged cheeses-not, smoked meats-not likely, MSG-?, artificial sweeteners-could be!

Blessed to have vision!!! Thank-you God for what vision I do have!!!

Cayden Slept Over

Kept the boys yesterday and then Cayden just slept over. After dropping Bentley off we headed back to the farm. Rode over to the pond. He kept cutting those eyes over at his Papa and smiling at him. We got out and walked across the dam. He was hot on WB’s heels. Just a talking. We got back in the truck and came home. Rode the cart and then he played in the sand at the barn.

Papa fried some fish, cooked some carrots and potato’s, I made corn on the cob.  It was good! After we got though, it was bath time. He loved it. After he ate, had his bath he was ready to get on the couch and go to sleep. Then I moved him to our bed. I knew better….lol. I went to another bed while he and Papa had some snoring time! Sweet boys!!!

Papa came in doing some paper work early. When he went to leave, Cayden went to our bedroom door and hollered, Wint? Wint? and looked around. I thought I had heard him call him Wint before, but was not sure….I know he did this time. Too funny!

Spent the afternoon with three of my girls today. Kyle, Isabella and I went on a little golf cart ride, while Casey stayed at the house. We went by the barn to see Papa, but he was gone on his Hawg. As we were riding by Isabella hollered out “PaPa” It was so funny. Kylie really got a kick out of that! So she did it again, of course! We rode the farm until we found him and Bill. The girls were excited of course and immediately got on the hawg with them!

I waited on them at the barn. The girls played and played. Kylie stayed with Papa until he came home that night!

We ate supper…….Kylie wanted to know if we had Wild Adventure passes. We don’t. She said that if we did, we could really have a lot of fun! Then WB began telling her why we would not be very much fun at Wild Adventures. First, he can’t walk, he needs knee replacement at 50 yrs old….. but that he thought Ma J would enjoy it….you stinker!!! She thinks I would enjoy the water and she is some what correct.

Kylie spent the night and I took her to school, we went to the Book Fair! She got two books! She is such a joy for us! Love that Kylie bug!!!

Fun Times!

I kept two of the grand's so Cayla and Casey could go and find the boys Easter outfits. Kylie and Cayden stayed with me. Cayden has been sick for about 6 weeks off and on, running fever since Thursday afternoon. Poor kid, part of it is allergies!

Kylie brought me a book to read and I told her that she should try and read it because there were words in it that she would know. And that I thought she could read it, and she did! My eyes filled with tears as I watched her read almost every word in that book. My favorite part of teaching was when we would be in reading centers and those little 4 year olds would begin to sound out those words!!! It brought tears to my eyes then and still today! I guess because I know that a whole new world has just opened up for them, and for some it is harder and takes a little longer…but when they get it…success!!!

Kylie was so excited and proud. She still has a few sight words to learn….but the girl can read! Kylie, I am so very proud and excited for you!!!!

Miss Boone!

I just tell ya, there is just something about a coon hat! I guess it reminds me of Cole so much that I just had to buy one. I bought this one for Cole, but of course it is to little. My Mom and Dad bought Cole one at Cracker Barrel years ago. he wore it out and the tail finally broke loose.

I had to show this little girl her picture with it on before she would keep it on her head…silly girl!!!

Let me just say…….I LOVE MY FRONT PORCH AND BACK PORCH!!! Many good times spent and memories shared with family and friends!!!

A blessed Day!

The Day the lights went out in Morven!

Today I am just finishing up preparing for Easter dinner tomorrow. I am cooking and adding a few touches here and there.

We have a wedding late afternoon. A young man who we have known since he was a baby!!! So excited for him and his precious family!!! So I have to get things  done!

The tables and chairs are set up on the back porch when… I spot this lizard. For some reason I think he needs to be removed, since the porch is screened in and such…wouldn't want it to cause a stampede or anything!!!

There is a rocking chair right here, I have a wet cloth in my hand. I’ll just hop up here and smack at him, when he falls, I will put him outside. Right? WRONG!

This chair has a cushion in it, no problem, just a little swat that's all I need.  Up in the chair I go, need to inch a little closer……. take a step…….I believer the cushion flew and down we go (we as in chair and myself)! Backwards, not forwards! No way to catch myself!!! I hit the right side of my head near the base on the arm of a chair, I think about the same time my left rear cheek hit the concrete floor. Then the upper left arm and shoulder hit another chair on the way down!I know the concrete is near!
Finally…I have landed with a little bump to the other side of the head …..fade to black, not for long…..but fade to black!!!

Oh boy I am in some pain….and all I could think was, I need one of those buttons that I can press….” help, i have fallen and I can’t get up”! Yes I am laughing and hurting…..near about everything is hurting!!! That was stupid, really stupid!!!

I decided I would just stay put for a few minutes, the floor was clean, nice and cool. Then I looked up and what did I see…that stupid lizard just staring at me and I am sure he was laughing!!!  As I was sprawled out licking my wounds, I pondered, how long would I lay here before my husband came home? I decide I may as well  peel myself up off the concrete, because it would be awhile!!! I am sure the outline of my body is still embedded!!!LOL!!!

Lesson learned…no climbing in rocking chairs any more!!! And if you are scared of lizards, stay off the back porch.

Next time….shoot him Elizabeth!!!

Easter Egg Dying 2012

We are having our Easter Gathering, after Easter, as almost always!!!

We got together and dyed eggs this afternoon. It was so much fun! Lots of laughter and fun!

I will begin with the oldest (1) go to the youngest (4)!

Kylie has been sick, so she is not her normal “talkative”  self! Poor thing!!! But, she is trying to feel better! She seemed to have a good time though!

0413121

Number two----Isabella. She enjoyed herself very much! She liked dying the eggs and she liked putting the dye on herself!!! She could put those eggs right in the cup!

0413122

Number three-Cayden. He enjoyed the egg coloring also. He has become very independent and would just as well do it by himself! He liked “messing and dabbling” in it as my Mother would say!!! He also did not mind if there were a few eggs in the cup! He is very hands on!!!

0413123

Number four-Bentley, could care less at this point if he colored any eggs. As long as he is full, he is good! But we did take some pictures!!! And I even have a finger that was dyed!!!

0413124

041312

If I can not feed myself…I will just not eat!

Our little Cayden man! He is trying to be so independent! He wants to feed himself and if you do not let him….he will just plain and simply, not eat!!! Little rascal!!!

I got a couple of new lenses for my birthday, so I am trying to get used to them as you can tell in the pictures below!

St George Island

We took a little day trip today. Girls day at the beach!!! Casey, Kylie, Isabella and myself. It was such a beautiful day and the girl had an awesome time playing.

At first Isabella did not want sand on her feet, so she stayed on the blanket. She did sit by me in the chair for a little while. But when she got a little taste of playing in the water, that was the end of no sand in between the toes-----she loved it!!! Back and forth with shells that Kylie had picked up, from the bucket to her Mom’s hand---at least an hour!!! She was so stinking cute!!!

Kylie was playing from the first second. She absolutely loved finding the shells and playing in the sand and water!!! Oh, and she loved all the boys! She had never seen so many boys in all one place in all of her life!!!

The beach was not crowded and I enjoyed that, but I oh so loved watching the girls enjoy themselves.

Thank you Casey for making this trip with me. It was so nice to spend time with you and your girls. Love you so much!!!

A quote from Kylie after going to the beach….hmmm!!!

Momma J, I hadn't ever seen so many boys in all my life! Said with the biggest smile you ever saw!!! Oh dear, we are in trouble!!! Her Papa is not going to like this at all!!! Bahaha!!!

Now I am on to why she was so willing to share her sand dollars!!!
