Williams Christmas 2008: The event was on Friday, after Christmas. We decided to have steak, baked potato & salad as our menu. I was in charge of the potato's. I wrapped them at my house & took them to cook at Mom's. I wanted to go early so I could visit since I did not get to visit much Thanksgiving. Buffy & Missy were still at her house. Lynn, Paul & John were loading up to go & get a Wii that Lindsey found at Walmart. Lynn did let Paul go & stayed with Mom & I. Thanks Lynn....I enjoyed the laughs about old times & catching up on the news. I preheated the oven....I thought...not my oven....I did not press start! We were just talking, walking around outside, thinking the oven was preheating...wrong! When I went to put the potato's in the oven was not hot! Oh boy, don't think we will be eating at 6:30! Buffy arrives, they get out the grill, we know we are not going to make the 6:30 time!!! Finally, the tators got ready! We had a delicious meal in spite of a few bumps! I gave Mom her present early because we could use it....silverware! You don't need 20 or so place settings but a few times a year, but when you need them....you need them! So she got her present a little early. The meal was delicious and a nice change. After the kids ate, they were ready for gifts. We adults were enjoying our food eating dessert and chatting. They keep wanting us to hurry us, just as we did our parents when we were kids. We told them we had to finish dessert and besides this was how our parents did us & we just needed to pass this on to them so they could pass it on to their kids! Life is such a circle!! Finally, it was gift time. Katie & Kylie went first & they were sooo cute! Then the next kids & so on. Winston always gives Lynn a gag gift...and Lindsey too. This year I found some monkey butt powder, lotion, wipes & one other one that i can not remember. I am for real...that is what its called. Cayla & I gave Winston the powder also! It was really funny. He has given them a cow skull, a leg lamp, a brick etc. It is always interesting to see what he comes up with. This year he gave Buffy's girls water guns. A little pay back for a huge bear and a pair of drums!!! Well, after those water guns were opened that was it...they were all outside. After Winston squirted Mom with one them, that is! Glad it was hot! Those kids had the best time & anyone who went out the door was wet! They were chasing Cole, Austin, Winston, Bart, Dalton, David, Kevin....you get the picture. Buffy got out the front & managed to slip by all of them & loaded her car! Austin got the water hose to squirt them with, but as he was waiting with the water on, Kevin slipped behind him, turned off the water, when the girls came...he had no water. He thought he must of had a kink in the hose!! Yes, Christmas is usually a little crazy at the little white house that we grew up in. It is a little crowded, but you never know what is going to happen. A niece might even hand her uncle a book about The Farting Dog....& get him to read it! He did not know what the book was about & his face turned red, but he just kept on reading it! They had given this book to their Dad for Christmas. I heard their is one where this dog got banned from the beach also! What a fun time!

Bridges Christmas 2008 Christmas 2008 was different in many ways, but the same in others. For 25 years we have gone to The Bridges to have our Christmas on Christmas Eve! This year was a little different. With Grandma Wisenbaker so ill, the daughters are taking turns tending to her! Each one of them have their family Christmas on the 24th. Well, this was not possible as someone had to stay with Grandma. First we were going to have lunch, but everyone seemed to be doing it earlier this year! Then Jerry & family decided to come on Friday....well, that is Jenny's birthday & the day she likes to go to Red Lobster at lunch and they could not be here that early anyway! Friday night, the Williams family had planned our get together. Oh my, just trying to find a good time for all is a major task as everyone knows who have family! Mike Armstrong died right before Christmas, God be with all of them during this sad time, and his funeral was Sat. at 11:00, which was when Martha had decided to have her Christmas. Time must change again, we will attend the funeral!! Well, usually they come over Christmas morning to watch Kylie, our kids and have breakfast with us! But it was Martha's time at Grandma's!!! Emmett also came down Wed. with the virus that Jenny & Martha had...oh what a Christmas!! Since they could not come for breakfast & Kylie was at her Spencer family, we were having Kylie's Christmas in the afternoon & I had planned to cook Christmas night, I invited them to come over & eat with us & we would just do our Christmas here this year! I know Martha was disappointed, as we were, that we did not get to do this Christmas Eve....you should have seen us...we did not know what to do with ourselves!!! Winston and I went golfing!!She loves to cook & have her Christmas at her house! She is such a great host!!! But, we got through it. We had our family Christmas the morning of the 25th. We saved one gift to open with Kylie when she got home! I made a breakfast casserole & rolls....very informal! I worked most of the day making a cake, setting the table, cleaning up the morning Christmas mess! We were all waiting for Kylie to arrive home!! She arrived around 3:00. She took my finger & took me straight to the tree. She wanted to know who's presents were where? Which ones were hers, where is mine, Cole's? We told her she needed to take a nap so Santa would come. When she woke we had her Christmas, then.....time to clean this mess up!!! We decided to have a low country boil for dinner. Winston cooked this down at the barn. We poured it on a platter in the middle of the table. It was so good! The only problem was that Jenny had never seen such! She was hungry until she saw all of it mixed together! She wanted to know if that was all we were having!Ha! I had asked Martha about this earlier!!! She does like shrimp! After she saw that you could separate it on your plate, she did eat! I do not know if she peeled any of the shrimp or not, but she did eat the sausage...which was a little hot!It was funny....she probably wanted to go through McDonald's on the way home!!! Oh well, we are making some funny memories! (Poor Emmett did not get to eat because he was sick....so far Casey & Cayla have gotten the same bug!!! Just waiting on the rest of us to get it!) After eating we opened gifts, visited a bit, cleaned up the kitchen and I was tired!!! What a big, blessed, happy day! Yes, Christmas was a little different this time, but we still had fun. Sorry for such a long post, but if I do not put this down I will forget the events of Christmas 2008! I will post about the Williams Christmas later!
Merry Christmas Kylie!

We had a fun afternoon watching Kylie just enjoying her Christmas! She got home from her Spencer family around 3:00. She took a nap and when she woke...Santa had been by! We feel so blessed to share this special day with her and Casey. Cole, Cayla and Austin were ready to share this special day with her also! They were very helpful with videos, opening the packages...that are tied up so tight it takes a rocket scientist to open them! Kylie was so funny!!! After she opened a gift she would take it to someone to show it, or get them to open it! She was happy with everything! Before the day was over, she had played with most of them! What a blessed day!
All of our hearts and prayers are with the Mike Armstrong family tonight. It is so hard to loose a Dad. They are such a source of strength and protection. I always just felt safe and secure as long as my Dad was living. Like a security blanket! They give the best, big ole bear hugs! Kari & April, we love you and understand your loss!
Friday night as Kylie & I were taking a bath, I noticed the hot water seemed to run out quicker than usual. I did not say anything, I figured the girls might have just gotten out or something. Sat. night...same scenario . When WB got home I told him he might want to wait a few minutes before he showered...unusual for our house.....large water heater. He decided it must be the element. After an hour & bringing out the big tools he got the element out. We flew to Home Depot, arrived at 8:45! They had them, thank goodness! We ate & came home. The top was easy, the bottom...not! Winston, Cayla & myself all tried to get it out. Cayla sat on the floor, put her feet on the water heater & pulled & pulled, it was quite funny!!! Winston finally got it! It was ready to go around 11:15! We have hard water so......after 12 years, the bottom one needed to be replaced. We have lots of repairs that are beginning to show up!

We had a fun day of making cookies. Cayla & Kylie & me really enjoyed decorating the cookies. Kylie really go in to it, along with the water from the frig button! She also tried to read the directions for Mema J! We did not do a lot today, but have them baked to finish decorating another day. Mema J is tired! But want to make memories for Kylie!
When you have a grandchild it makes Christmas fun all over again! They will make you get your halls decked! A few of my favorite things!

Our Church Christmas party was Sunday night after church. Kylie had been at her other families house for the weekend. She got home early today so we thought we would go on to church. When Casey opened the door & she was crying should have been the first indication of what was to come. We got dressed, made some food & headed out. OH boy, she was so exhausted that she was crying about anything and everything!!!! We did attend the party for a short time. When it got time for Santa, she had acted up so bad that we just had to go! That baby was so exhausted. All I can say is that we did try, and tortured ourselves in the process! She is usually so good, but as of late she really needs a nap sometime during the day! I did get a couple of pictures .
Winston and I took off to the golf course around 3:30 and got in a few holes of golf. I had not played in so long, well....it was not pretty, but it was funny!!! We had a great time!
  • This is the conversation between Cayla and Kylie a few minutes ago! Cayla did not have class today.
  • Kylie: CaCa, Are you going to school today?
  • CaCa: No
  • Kylie: Why not?
  • CaCa: I quit.
  • Kylie: You can't quit CaCa.
  • CaCa: Why?
  • Kylie: Because all those people will be mad at you.
  • CaCa: Why?
  • Kylie: Cause you can't be stupid.
  • CaCa: Laughing!!!!!
  • Kylie: CaCa, you can't show them your stupid!
Happy Birthday Winston!

Happy Birthday Winston, Papa, Daddy!!! Winston's birthday is Sunday. We celebrated early since we are going to be out of town. We usually are on his birthday. He doesn't like a big production on his special day. But this year Kylie knows all about birthday's & we could not just let it pass without celebrating it. She has been asking about it and wanted to have a cake! Cayla made the birthday supper, salad and up-side-down-pizza, it was so good!!! We were in town most of the day so we did not have much time to prepare, we also had not planned on going to Destin this weekend. Friends of ours offered us their condo for free! Thanks Murphy's!!! So the party was a spur of the moment...like most everything we do!! Check out the spelling on the cake, or is it just me? We also did not have any candles, so I just put one big ole candle in it...Kylie did not know what to think of the candle...nor did her Papa, but it served the purpose!!! We will leave tomorrow for our annual shopping trip if Grandma Wisenbaker is o:k! Be sure & remember her in your prayers!
Well, we had to buy a new mattress. We were not thrilled about this due to--- we had just bought a pillow top a few years ago! It was so comfy...to begin with, we loved it! We did turn the pillow top, 1/4 turn, but it must not have been enough! It does take more than 1 or 2 people to turn it as well! Both of us have a problem with our hip....it comes out of place & you don't know it until it hurts, & is sore! I could not take it any more!!!! I made myself go shopping for one! Winston would not go, of course! (Cayla & I went...I told her I would buy her lunch! She loves to eat out!) I really needed her to go so she could lay on the other side & see if I could tell when she got in & out of the bed!Ha! I am a very light sleeper...light, noise, movement.....not fun, for me or Winston! We laid on a few & narrowed it down to 2. I can not say I really like it...it is very firm! The good thing is.....our hips are supported & we both agree they feel better, I think! Did I say I hate to shop for a mattress, it's as much torture as shopping for a swim suit! Ugh!!!!

Trimming the Tree

Posted by Picasa
We got our tree up early this year...probably a record. We must give credit to Cayla, she has really been on the ball. She got the tree & the trimmings down. She also stung lights outside in the trees, but we have so many we kept blowing fuses...need an electrician, a whole other story! Kylie had a good time taking the ornaments on & off the tree!!! We have a ornament with a basketball goal, another just basketball ornament. She took the basketball & set it in the basket of the other ornament and said, yea we win! She is so excited. Cayla wrapped some gifts and when Kylie woke up she thought Santa had come...she also opened one that was in a bag....Aunt CaCa took the presents to the attic...she is no fun!
We had a great day with all of our families. We missed all who were not able to attend this year! I did most of my cooking on Wednesday, Martha has been cooking since Monday...she loves to cook and I am very thankful for her!! Buffy and I prepared the meal for our side of the family, we had a great time of laughter with everyone and we ate too much, but it was good!!! Friday some of our bunch went to see a movie, I was to exhausted to go, but I hear they had fun! Sorry I missed it, but Winston & I neither one slept well, to much good food!

Happy Birthday Lynn

Hope you have a great birthday. So glad you are one of my sister's. We have shared many memories together. Some good and some not so good! The greatest thing we share is the ability to laugh together! Over nothing sometimes...maybe most of the time. I will be looking forward to seeing all of you for Thanksgiving! Safe Travels!

Ear Infections

Well, Kylie has got an ear infection in her left ear & fluid behind her right ear. Casey took her to Dr. Allen today. We had tubes put in when she was around a year. About 6 months ago we went for another check-up. The tubes were still in but working their way out, which is what they are supposed to do. From birth to a year old, Kylie had around 12 ear infections. Wonder if we are going to have to do this again? Poor thing, she has ran no fever, no complaining. We began to see some drainage out of the ear. The Dr. had told us that we would see some drainage, so we just thought maybe the tubes were doing their job. Then her ear got a rash on it....so we decided to make an appointment. She let the Dr. know it was raining outside when he came in to see her! When she came home she told us the Dr. told her to stick out her tongue & say ahh. When we put tubes in her ears last time it was just terrible. She screamed for an hour or so afterwards. He had told us that she would do this, most do!!!
Ya like my pockets?

A nice Friday

Today my Mom came over & I worked on some curtains for her. We enjoyed our visit with her very much! Kylie cried because she did not want Mana to go home. Later in the day Winston & I headed to the golf course to practice a few strokes. We had fun, it was just nice to spend time with him alone! Then out for a bite to eat. It was a fun night shared with each other. Thanks for taking me honey!!

Play Date

We went to get some ribbon to make hair bows with & to play with the cousins! Had a great time!

Just wanted to wish Ally, my niece, a very Happy Birthday today. She is 7 years old. We are looking forward to the party on Saturday! I love you!

Santa Picture & Christmas dress

I received and email Sunday, I think, about Santa pictures at Phillip Walker Photography for Wed. of this week. It was short notice due to Santa having another commitment in the area. Any way, I had fabric ready to make Kylie a Christmas dress, just not in 2 days!!! I started it Monday night. Kylie helped me with it on Tuesday until my patience wore out! I did try & let her help, but she is just 2 1/2. She did give her opinion on the dress. She wanted me to put it on the table, then she got some more fabric & started redesigning the dress. She stepped back & told me it needed something else...then she patted it & said.... it needs a pocket!!!! Oh my, what a trip! I worked on the dress until 12:00 last night. I had so much trouble with it!! I wanted to add some embellishments to it, so I had to adjust the pattern....I do not think I will try that again! I took it apart several time's, made 1 button hole 3 times....I know why I do not sew any more....I do not have the patience to do it!!!! This morning I finally whipped it and made a hair bow! We arrived for our picture with Kylie looking like a doll in her dress. Kylie spotted Santa through the open door right off the bat! We went back & she walked over slowly, climbed in his lap and smiled at the camera!! She wanted to look at Santa instead of the camera, but we got several pict. to choose from at the end of the shoot! It was just priceless watching her with Santa! She gave him a kiss before we left. Then as we were picking out our pictures she was playing with some of the toys and watching Santa. Cayla saw her lying on the floor, on her belly, with her chin resting on her hands just staring though the door at Santa! She wants a doll & stroller. Let me just say, this Santa is the best I have ever seen!!

The Barm

One of Kylie's favorite things to do is to go to the barm (barn) to see her Papa & play! We went down today & she had a blast. She ate a pb&j, played golf, played with Uncle Cole, Mr. Bill & Papa. She even had Papa, Bill & myself playing hide-n-seek! It was funny. She told Papa to go hide, she then started to count & peek as he was hiding!!! She played with her buckets & shovels in the sand...and put dirt on Bill's shoe! Sorry Bill!

Working Man & His Wife

Our Baby Girl nearly grown!!!!

I got a picture of Cayla this afternoon with her new hair cut and all dressed up. Our little girl is all grown up!

Blessed

We are so thankful! Our produce seemed to survive the cold weather, this week! Thank you Lord for answered prayers!!! We are totally under his mercy with our crops, they are in his hands. I have often thought, what faith a farmer must have to invest his time and money into a crop. Let's face it....you take a seed, plant it, water it...that is if you have irrigation...if not, you get on your knees & beg for rain...or for no rain, or sunshine, or for it not to get to cold...oh my, a whole lot of praying going on around here!! But, we know he will take care of us, no one at our house has starved as of yet...I need to wire my mouth shut!!! Some times I would tell WB, you may as well go out there and plant dollar bills instead of seeds, it felt like we were just throwing money away. My husband, as well as many farmers, is not a quitter. He would just say, that next year would be better, and sometimes it would be! He is a very hard worker and with God's help, we have been very blessed.

Lazy Eye & Amblyopia

The article below is very exciting for me as I have had this condition all of my life! I had surgery when I was very young to correct the eye as it was pulled inward. It helped the muscle with glasses and patches. Those patches as the biggest pain! They itch when you get hot & sweaty!! Plus you can't see worth anything with it on. I know that is the point, to make the eye stronger & work better. It did help with the muscle, I am sure, but not with the vision. I wore glasses until I was a Jr. in High School & a new Dr. said to take them off, they were hurting my good eye. I was so happy I nearly hugged his neck!!! Kids are so mean in your early years about anything different...yes, I got called 4-eyes and yes it hurt my feelings so bad! But, I am sure those people, as adults now, have learned better! I remember loosing my glasses all the time!! Trying to watch t.v., pulling back the patch so I could see what was on, my sister telling on me!! She said she was sacred I would go blind!!! Thanks Lynn!! I never knew there might be things that my vision would affect. Like depth perception, balance and anything approaching your blind side! When you have dealt with it all of your life, you just don't know that you might not be as good at some things as people with vision in both eyes. One thing I absolutely can't do is to water ski on one ski! I have tried & tried, I even tried to ride a wake board a couple of years ago! Ha! I also could not see a pick coming in basketball from that side! Now I know why I shot an missed the whole goal every now & then..I was definitely a defensive player!! Too funny!! I have learned to hit a golf ball! Now, when it starts getting dusk...I will swing & miss!!! At first we did not think that much about it, but it has happened several times and we have seen a pattern. I have learned to laugh at myself...the greatest gift I have given myself! All of my children have been checked for this. The thing is, this can happen at any time during your life. Cayla has it, of course she would be the one, but she has made her brain & eye over compensate and it works part of the time! She is one of the rare ones that has done this!! I also have a sister that this happened to when she was older. So, I guess you should have your kids vision checked annually, who knows. Sorry for the long post, but I just needed to blog about this! I really would like to try this procedure, but I doubt they would try this on a middle-aged person....did I just say middle-aged!!!

Surgery May Prevent "Lazy Eye" Blindness, Experimental Procedure Might Save Some Kids' Sight In Affected Eyes - CBS News

blockquote cite="http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/08/08/earlyshow/health/main4331887.shtml">(CBS/ AP) Dr. Paul Dougherty delicately slipped a tiny lens inside the right eye of 7-year-old Megan Garvin - a last-ditch shot at saving her sight in that eye.The California girl last week became one of a small number of United States children to have an experimental surgery to prevent virtual blindness from "lazy eye" diagnosed too late, or too severe, for standard treatment. The new approach: Implantable lenses, the same kind that nearsighted adults can have inserted for crisper vision - but that aren't officially approved for use in children."Without this technology, we couldn't help her," says Dougherty, a prominent Los Angeles eye surgeon who invited The Associated Press to document Megan's surgery. "This would be written off as a blind eye."Up to five percent of children have amblyopia, commonly called lazy eye, where one eye is so much stronger than the other that the brain learns to ignore the weaker eye. Untreated, the proper neural connections for vision don't form, eventually rendering that eye useless.Catch it early - preferably by preschool - and it can be fairly easy to fix by patching over the strong eye, or using special drops in it, for several hours a day so that the brain is forced to use the weak eye. But the older the child is, the less effective the treatment - and by age nine, brain-eye connections are pretty well set.The leading cause is eyes that aren't in perfect alignment. But a big difference in focusing power also triggers amblyopia. That's what happened with the Garvin girl, who had near-perfect vision in one eye but the other was too nearsighted to even see the big E on the eye chart. It's sneaky: Kids don't realize they're seeing clearly out of only one eye, and often won't squint or otherwise signal there's a problem. So Megan was fast passing the window to correct amblyopia when a kindergarten eye exam flagged a problem."She reads perfectly, she's a very normal active child," says her mother, Rosie Garvin. "If she would not have had that vision test, I would never have known.""We went in," Rosie told CBS News, "and they had her cover the one eye, and she did just fine. And then, when they covered the other eye, it was shocking. ... I think anytime that you find something is wrong, or not normal, it's devastating."Ophthalmologists called it one of the worst cases they'd ever seen.Glasses weren't do-able: One side would have required a clear lens and the other a Coke-bottle thickness, a prescription of minus-12 diopters. Her parents tried inserting a contact lens in the bad eye -- getting her to roughly 20-60 vision in that eye, far from perfect, but able to see blurrily while the good eye was patched.Contacts and young kids are a tough match. Megan cried when her mother inserted it. Teachers would call to say it had popped out.Frustrated, the Garvins ultimately opted for the implant - and days later, are feeling hopeful. It's blurry, Megan tells her mother, but she can see out of her right eye, and is chafing at the required week of rest to let the tiny incisions in her eye heal. That's just the first step. Months of patching lie ahead to try to reverse the lazy eye, or the brain would just stick with the connections it has already formed to her strong eye. Dougherty gave no guarantees."I know we've got our work ahead of us," says Rosie Garvin, from Simi Valley, Calif. "I'm so relieved ... and going to make sure I do everything they tell me to make sure this works for her for life.""She's gotta live with the decision that her mom and dad made for her when she was seven years old," Rosie observed to CBS News, "and we're just hoping that we've made the right decision -- that this is something that will be a long-term benefit for her."Dougherty told CBS News Megan is the first girl to have the procedure in the U.S.He explained that the lens is rolled up "like a taco" when it's inserted, then it's allowed to unfurl, and winds up flat, covering the iris (colored part of the eye).Implantable lenses for adults, called phakic intraocular lenses or IOLs, hit the U.S. market in 2004. Unlike cataract surgery, which requires removal of the eye's natural lens because it is clouded, these lenses are put on top of a natural lens that can't focus properly, thus helping sharpen vision. They have some risks: Surgical infection, inflammation, a potential for cataracts to form. At about $4,000 an eye, it's more expensive than the controversial laser eye surgery LASIK, but the lenses can be removed if there are problems. But, "How this lens is going to work in a child's eye, we don't know. We've never done studies," cautions Dr. Punin Shah, a cornea specialist at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. It is legal to implant the lenses experimentally in a child, however.A handful of medical journal reports show surgeons are starting to try the approach for hard-to-treat amblyopia. In a French study of a dozen children, all had improved vision after the surgery and half recovered normal binocular vision.Other surgeons are experimenting with LASIK in children like Megan, although she wasn't a LASIK candidate - her corneas were too thin for it to be done safely, and Dougherty says it doesn't work well for such severe nearsightedness.Dr. Michael Repka, a pediatric ophthalmologist at Baltimore's Johns Hopkins University, says both approaches are in their infancy, but interesting."It's an exciting thing in a patient who has had conventional therapy and failed," says Repka, a spokesman for the American Academy of Ophthalmology. And while catching lazy eye very young is best, stay tuned: Repka's own research shows it can be possible to treat after age nine, long the cut-off, and he is to publish details soon.Surgery May Prevent "Lazy Eye" Blindness, Experimental Procedure Might Save Some Kids' Sight In Affected Eyes - CBS News

Much to cold for produce

We are hoping that the temp. does not drop as low as they are predicting tonight. As a matter of fact...we are praying that it doesn't!!!! The produce just can not handle this. We have a couple of new fields of squash that we have not even picked yet.

America

I just loved this video, it is so true! I am very proud that my children are brave enough to exercise their right to vote. It is a little scary to go and do something you have never done before! I did not vote when I was that young. We must take a stand as Christians. What a mess we have made of this great country. God forgive and help us!!

Embedded Video

Kylie with her pumpkin she picked at the pumpkin patch.

Kylie Dress

I finally got one of Kylie's dresses made, & her picture taken! I made this with my new machine.

Been A Long Time

Today it was raining cats & dogs. The farm work did not stop, all of our employees were hard at it, they are such hard workers! They were all wet & a little cold. Winston still needed to move the tractor's to another field, about a mile from the house. Booda had taken a truck load of produce to the cooler. Winston & him were going to take the tractors when he got back. The rain had slacked off a little, I told him he should go ahead & try a move them, the radar did not show it letting up any time soon. I told him I would help him, he had been wet most of the day. I got in the closet, grabbed some coveralls. He & I took 2 tractors over & Cayla picked us up. Back to the farm....we needed to take one more tractor. I told him I would take it since I had on the coveralls! Well, let me tell ya, the frog strangler came next!!! Before I could get on the paved road it was pouring! Winston just knew I was going to let him have it....not...I was just laughing! I had on a hat and the coveralls worked pretty good! I really did not mind, it brought back a lot of childhood memories. I did not know if I could remember how to crank the tractor, they are all different, but I did...no prob. It has been a long time since I drove a tractor!!

Cayla's First Deer

Yep, Cayla went deer hunting today and killed her first deer!

Many Birthday's this week

I have 3 niece's with Birthday's this week. Lilly's was Monday-20th, Mary Kate's(16th) Tuesday-21st and Lindsey(13th)-Friday-24th! A great day is wished for all of you sweet girls on your special day!

Bank & Post Office

Every couple of days we have to go to the bank & post office. Kylie likes to get a sucker from the bank and go into the post office to play with the mailboxes! I happened to have my camera in the car today!

Don't Forget to Vote the time is nearing!!!!

Casey and I went & did the early voting deal today!! I am glad that is behind me!!! I like this early voting....no lines!

Kylie needs Six Doddars

Today I was getting the payroll ready. Had a little cash to hand out. Kylie saw me counting this & she needed some money. In a few minutes I called for her...she was in Papa's office. I asked what she was doing....she said she needed 6 doddars and she was trying to open the place where we keep our small stash of cash, I mean really small! Guess who showed her where this was??? Papa of course! It was so funny! I gave her some change and she was happy!

Omar Hurricane

Well who would imagine that a hurricane named Omar would affect our farm? That is just what happened. We were picking cubanelles, we sell ships of them to Puerto Rico. Guess where Omar was???? You got it...right there by it. They actually had 2 ships sold & they both had to cancel due to the rough seas. Winston had picked a lot of boxes. Then they called & said to stop picking....our bushes are just loaded down & they need to come off. Winston was worried last night. I said a prayer before he ever came home asking for help in this situation. When WB came home I assured him that tomorrow would be a better day! God is so good & those ships were able to roll again today, thank-you for our harvest Lord!!! Thank-you for this great friend I am married to & for his love & dedication to this family. I know he has faith, but he has that little worry wart that just rears his ugly head every now & again!!! He knows you are there, lets face it, if not he could not farm!!! Thank-you to all the farmers in this great country that are willing to sacrifice themselves to feed & clothe this country...all because of Gods hand in it!! God Bless our American Farmers and families.

Painting our childhood barn!

This barn has been the home to about 5 horses, a goat, chickens and a deer. This barn holds many memories for all of our family. I decided I would just take a chance & paint it!!! I am not finished with it as of yet!

The Pumpkin Patch

Saturday we went to Mark's Pumpkin Patch. I wanted Kylie to be able to pick her own pumpkin. We invited her cousins to go. Kevin drove while we watched a couple of Halloween movies. One of them was the It's The Great Pumpkin Patch, Charlie Brown....bring back any memories!!! We had a great time and Kylie was so excited to share the day with her cousins. They made it more fun for her!! So glad they could go. I will post slide show shortly!

The Girls in College

I am so excited today as both of our girls started their fall quarter of classes today. They may end up changing their course of study, but I just want them to get some type of higher education, or a trade. You just don't know if it is the right area for jobs. We will just have to pray that God will guide them in the way he wants them to go!

Breakfast on the Porch

Today, Kylie had breakfast on the porch, Aunt Ca Ca & Mom joined her for a bit! As you can see, as they are blessing the food, Kylie did bow her head, but just could not wait for the blessing! She just needed one bite...Ca Ca must have been waiting for it, busted!!! Too cute!! Kylie used the potty today, when we told her Mom...Kylie said, "Are you gonna give me an ice cream cone?" Well, we sure will, whatever it takes for her to use the potty!!!!
