Rainbows

After the Ball, I came back home to get Bentley from Casey. She let me go to the ball because I can take good pictures and siblings aren’t allowed to go. I offered to keep Isabella!!!

On my way to take Bentley to meet his Mom,the afternoon rain had stopped and I saw this huge rainbow. I thought of Aubrey and Laura. All I had was my phone camera, so I pulled over and snapped a couple of pictures. Dropped Bentley off and headed back home.

I stopped by the barn to see the hubby on my way back in, he asked how every thing went at the Ball. I told him about all of it, as we both welled up with tears! I told him what Aubrey told her Mom about the sky, he smiled. After 15 minutes or so, we came out of his office at the barn, guess what was in the sky? Another huge rainbow. He said, Jill, look at that rainbow. I did not have my phone on me then, it was in the car. I just smiled!!!

I shared my pictures with Laura that night and told her about the rainbows. She said, that’s my Aubrey, she is quite the artist!

Then she shared Aubrey’s love of rainbows with me! Oh my, I did not know how much she loved them until that night.  She was constantly drawing or painting them and putting them on the refrigerator.

Then she shared that her brother was a song lyric writer and the week after Aubrey died he wrote a song for Aubrey…Paintin Rainbows. She emailed the song and the words to me, how special and how blessed to  know Miss Aubrey!!!

It is a precious song and will bring you lots of tears!

Blessed!!!

There are actually two rainbows in this picture!!! One is very faint.

“Princess Aubrey” Fairy Tale Ball

Every year the K-5 classes have a Fairy Tale Ball at school. They have to dress as one of the characters. This year the Ball had a very special meaning. It was in memory of a little girl who passed away a few weeks ago. She was in Kindergarten and was in Kylie’s K-4 class last year. She had nocturnal seizures. She was the sweetest little girl and she gave precious hugs!

First, they have a parade down every hall in the school! See the little girl in the middle, in the sparkly pink dress waving, she is our little princess!!!

Next, it was time for the ball! I am sure lots of time was spent preparing for this event!

050612

There was excitement for parents and grand's to be there! There was dancing and

Crafts and Plinko and bean bag toss!

What fun!!!

Then after about 2 hours, it was time for the balloon release. Time to send lots of balloons and love to sweet Aubrey. The sky had cleared and it was just beautiful!

Aubrey's teacher talked about Aubrey and how she was our honored guess, how much she knew that Aubrey enjoyed the ball and that she was waiting to receive her purple balloons.  They had gathered the k-5 in a circle around the family. Each one of us received a purple balloon, her favorite color!!! I took Kylie’s crown off because I did not want hers to pop!

On the count of three…one, two, three!

It was a beautiful showing of love! After, we went back  inside and began waiting for them to go back to class. I saw Elaine, Aubrey’s Grandmother. She was a little older than I in school, but her parents farmed not to far down the road from us.

I saw her earlier but just did not know what to say and just kept putting off going and giving her a hug. I knew this was so hard for all of them. But, the regrets would have been even worse. So after wrestling with this during the ball, I made myself go and give her a hug. I did not know if she even would know who I was, but who cares!!! I went over and gave her a hug and told her I was praying for them and was so sorry. She hugged me back tight and said, that is all any of us can do!

As I left I thought how blessed I had been to be a part of this! I prayed for all of them as I drove home.

Laura, Aubrey’s Mom, and I have talked through email quite a bit. I had pictures of her sweet angel from last year and wanted her to have them. So, an email and face book friendship began!

On one of her pictures on face book she tells about how on one of their many trips to Macon( to the Dr) and back…there was this beautiful sunset, Aubrey made her take a picture of it! Then she told her Mom….” when I go to heaven, I am going to paint the sky and make shapes out of clouds for everyone at home to see”!

Precious!!!

Happy Birthday Casey!

The sixth of May is our Casey’s birth day. This year, her hubby took her out of town for the weekend and they had a great time. He Dad and I thought we might get to take a little weekend trip, but it did not rain…so we are at the farm….irrigating!!!

We had a little cake and her Daddy cooked a little meal for her! All though the celebration was small our love for this young women is not!!! WE LOVE YOU, CASEY!!!

Meet Cayla with the boys, we decided we would go and eat. Zaxbys of course. Cayden was in rare form!!! He was being silly!!! I finally took him to the car. He got the steering wheel and did not want to let go! Do you want to stand in the corner? He let go……and he will actually stand in the corner!

He decided he would just spend the night with Ma J. We got home, stopped by the barn and played in the dirt for awhile. Then we rode him in the big truck, he decided he would help Papa drive, he loves to drive!!! It was so funny!

We got home and watched some television.   I thought I would just get on my lap top for a minute. Cayden was not having any of that. He fussed and got in my lap….got himself between me and the computer and flipped over in my arm just like you would hold an infant. He was sleepy and he will get in a zone when he is going to sleep. He just gazed up at me, then I sang him a few songs, stopped for a little while, then was going to start back up again….and with his eyes still closed he shook his head no!!!  LOL!!!

The Good Ole Show’s

I just watched “Flipper”! Oh the memories it brought back. One of my favorites!

As a child I also enjoyed….Daniel Boone, Gun Smoke, Lassie---and I cried until he came and sat back on that rock! LOL!!!

Family Affair!!!

Isabella

I kept Isabella for just a little while today. First thing she did when her Mom left….brought me my shoes and went to the back door and pointed. Aww, Cutie Pie!

But, we had to go to the post office and then on to Target. She was so good! We had a good time together.  Just to short of a visit.

We rode by the barn to talk to Papa a minute----she was wanting to get out of her car seat and go to him, but he was working and we had to get on our errands!!!

I remembered something that was due  today so I did not get to visit with her or her Mom quite as long as I would have liked! We will do it again!!!

Sunday Lunch

Well, we decided we would cook today…faint! WB went and bought a ham, I made rice, peas, mac and cheese and hot pineapple  dish. During the school year it is difficult to eat in the evening due to school days for one little girl at this time. It got us through another meal and we are thankful!

The afternoon was filled with laughing, screaming, fighting kiddo’s and poopie  diapers and bottles!

An alligator hunt! A golf cart ride which we were blessed to see two deer yearlings. I was so shocked and wanted Cayden to see them that all I could do was gasp with my mouth wide open. I knew if I had talked it would have scared them worse than they were. Cayla thought I was having a heart attack. LOL!!! She was saying, What, what!!!   Cayden did see them and I don’t think he knew what to make of them!!! He was pointing with his mouth wide open…lol!!!

A blessed day!

The Girls

I kept the girls today, Bart and Casey had a garage sale. Kylie spent the night with us and when Isabella sleeps through the night…..she will get her turn!!! LOL! She must be kin to her Mama J!

Casey brought her bright and early. (I had gone to the little room because someone was sleeping side ways in the bed!) In comes Casey and Isabella. She put her in the double bed with me and she may have slept just a little. Next, Kylie came and joined us…now there are three in the bed. And no one is wanting to sleep but me!!! We got up and started the day and boy are these two busy bee’s!!! Playing on the back porch, riding on the golf cart, eating, watching a little cartoons and lunch at the barn. Yes, my sweet hubby cooked lunch for us! He is the best!!!   Isabella was stuck to him like glue, again!!!

Isabella got sleepy and I told her to get on the couch and take her a nap…and she did just that! I put some pillows down in case she rolled off. That was not good enough for Mama Kylie…she had to put more, she did not want her to hurt her head! Sweet sister!!!

Then, had a date with the hubby!  A fun day!

Ocular Migraines

Yes, that is what happened this am. Have never heard of this, but it scared us. Having Amblyopia in one eye, and then the other eye begins not seeing clear-------makes for a sure fire panic.

I was finishing up Cayden’s feeding of  himself with runny grits, standing at the sink. I looked over at him and I could not see him clearly. It was not really fuzzy, it was like trying to see though the color-- dark gray. I was like, okay I am not seeing him. Then I looked at the wall and it had a  streak about 2 inches wide, long and curved. It was like  wavy line, colorful and reflective or moving. Okay, this is weird…but I was wiping off and cleaning counter tops. I went to read the back label to see what I could use this cleaner for and…….I could not see the first part of the word. PANIC!!! I really thought---am I getting Amblyopia in this eye? Is this the onset of it? I called the doctor and got in with him at Lake Park today and he was leaving early. It is 10:30 and I need to be there at 11:15, I have Cayden.

I called WB, told him to get home that I had a problem.

All I could think was: I will not be able to see my sweet grandbabies precious faces,   my son get married next year,  I will be a burden on everyone and no more picture taking! And the list went on, but these popped in first. I prayed that it be something else! That I would be able to handle it emotionally, no matter what….that is skeptical at this point!!! LOL!!!

Called Susie to keep Cayden, jumped in the truck and headed to Lake Park. I really think he needs to drive faster, but he thinks he is going fast enough!!! WB dropped me off and took Cayden to his Meme and Poppy’s.

As I sat there, it took all I had to hold back the tears. Having almost no vision in one eye has been dealt with all my life and I can handle that and its okay. But, this brings on a whole new worry! Oh the things that went through my head!

Doc checked out my eyes and told me that I had eye migraines. Okay, what is that? He explained it and WB got back in time to hear all of that…… What did we say??? Thank goodness!!!

I am sure some people would hate to know that they have this. (I have to chuckle at our response as I am looking back over this event!!!) But, I must say that I am feeling blessed that this is the worst of it. Blessed to have ocular migraines, yes in deed!!!

The good thing is they usually do not last but up to thirty minutes as far as the vision……they are migraines with out the pain….but I have had a headache today…hmmm!!! He told me it could happen while I am driving and that I would just have to pull over until it went away, boo for that part! He also told me that it was probably happening in my bad eye, but that I can see well enough to tell it. I agreed and told him, that was for sure…who knows what they eye is doing….he laughed!!!

He assures me this is genetic and if I dig far enough, I will find someone else in the family that has it! I think I found her!!! But, she has not told her eye Dr. about it!!!

Triggers for this migraine include: cigarette smoke, perfume and other strong odors, glaring or flickering lights, lack of sleep and emotional stress! It is not my cigarette smoke or perfume for sure….don’t smoke and nor wear! Some of the other’s-----possibility! Other Triggers----Choclate-busted, caffeine-busted, aged cheeses-not, smoked meats-not likely, MSG-?, artificial sweeteners-could be!

Blessed to have vision!!! Thank-you God for what vision I do have!!!

Cayden Slept Over

Kept the boys yesterday and then Cayden just slept over. After dropping Bentley off we headed back to the farm. Rode over to the pond. He kept cutting those eyes over at his Papa and smiling at him. We got out and walked across the dam. He was hot on WB’s heels. Just a talking. We got back in the truck and came home. Rode the cart and then he played in the sand at the barn.

Papa fried some fish, cooked some carrots and potato’s, I made corn on the cob.  It was good! After we got though, it was bath time. He loved it. After he ate, had his bath he was ready to get on the couch and go to sleep. Then I moved him to our bed. I knew better….lol. I went to another bed while he and Papa had some snoring time! Sweet boys!!!

Papa came in doing some paper work early. When he went to leave, Cayden went to our bedroom door and hollered, Wint? Wint? and looked around. I thought I had heard him call him Wint before, but was not sure….I know he did this time. Too funny!
