Isabella is really doing some walking. They got her some tennis shoes and oh my…..she has not stopped since then. She will be running soon!!! All she does is walk and explore. She will climb the stairs also…..very quietly!!!

One night when she stayed with us, she was dancing a little. Papa came in and saw her and danced a little too….he kind of got his arms going back and forth and bounced. WELL……every time Isabella see’s her Papa now……she dances. First, she shakes the bottom half of her body and bounces…then she starts with the top….it is so funny!!!

Looking Good

Swim Lessons 002

Great Job at Swim Class

Well, it looks like we have finally made some progress at swim today! She just needed a little extra time, instruction and understanding! We also put goggles on her and that helped very much!!! There is more to it than what I ever knew!!! I really think I might should sign up…lol!!!

Swim Lessons 2011-09-30

First picture, Kylie is “star fishing”…..floating on her back, chin high. (Next picture….she has flipped and is kicking.) They teach this so if they ever get tired or in trouble they know how to float. Why is it harder for some to float than others? I have seen it all my life! Well, Kylie has a hard time with this, her legs want to stay at the bottom, or when she rolls from face down to up…she has a tendency to sit up, which makes her sink! Also you have to not move your legs and arms. They taught her how to squeeze her butt checks together to  make her hips and tummy come to the surface!  So they worked a lot today on this with her!

Bottom left….Ms. Margie has her arm under her upper back and they are holding hands. She has her way  high in the water, which is how they want them! Next pix…flipping again!

Swim Lessons 2011-09-291

Ok----top left??? She decided to be a manatee I think!!! Took a trip to the bottom of the pool! LOL! Top right…coming up and flipping on her back to starfish! Another problem…looking at the bottom of the pool! She wants to look ahead. They want them to look down, so she has to work on this! But is looking good!

Swim Lessons 2011-09-29

Top right, working on kicking, feet should stay just under the water, it makes you go faster than kicking on top! Ms. Margie is counting and then she will let her turn. She did so much better today! Looks like we may move on to the next class after next week!!!

I am just amazed at the younger kids, how quickly those babies and toddlers catch on….they scream and holler, but after 3  or 4 weeks of it, they know what to do. They start counting…one, two….and they will start sticking their head under!!!  Yesterday they had a little one wear his shoes, socks and jeans and he star fished and  rolled. It makes sense, they usually fall in with all of their clothes on!!!

I love it! I am ready to take Isabella…if her parents want too!!!

Cayden

Cayden is so funny and cute. He is walking a little, pushing toys around like a bull dozer. He loves for you to read to him. He will back up to you or root around until he gets in your lap so you can read him a book!

Way to go Kylie!!! She swam without her arms in swim  survivor class! Now, let me just say that we were given the heads up on this….and I fretted about it all weekend.

She was using her hands, like dog paddling here and there….they do not want this. Also, when she flipped, she was using her shoulder to flip herself instead of using her hips. So….I prayed for her this weekend, and myself…since I would be taking her come Monday!

We went and ate at Chic-fil-a and we talked about the teachers. I asked her if she liked them, of course she does! Then I said, you trust them too don’t you? Yes, she does. I am trying to prepare her without telling her what they will probably do today. I told her I agreed with her fully! That they were all doing a great job and that they take care of here students! The only thing she said was….they had not let her go down that slide yet!!! Too funny!

Here we go, on to class, MamaJ is nervous…but we can do this! In the pool she goes and they work with her for a few minutes, then…I see the teacher reach for the top of a wet suit…..oh boy, I just covered my face with her towel for a minute. Then I watched Ms. Margie put it over her head, told her not to worry about the arms, she did not them to swim with today anyway! Then she took the loose sleeves and just tied them together so they would be out of the way, Kylie is just grinning and looking like, this is crazy! But now, she can not use her arms and she must use the hip to flip. They warmed her up a little and she did great, she was smooth and relaxed…amazing! They have to retrain her brain to do it the correct way!

Today, she did not have to wear it, but they are going to move her to a longer class time two days a week.

Kylie has never really liked water in her face or ears, so she really wants and needs to learn how to be a good swimmer! She is well on her way!

Childhood Swimming Memories

I talked to my sister Lynn yesterday. We talked about her teaching and kids and then I told her about Kylie taking swim lessons.

Oh dear, the laughing began!

Now, we did not get to go swimming a whole bunch, but we did go some!!!

Some kids just love the water and some do not. Well, one of us loved it growing  up and one did not. Sometimes we can have a bad experience and it stays with us!

While down at Cherry Lake many moons ago, we were jumping off the dock. Someone did not go down the dock far enough and jumped in, blacked out for a second and that was the end of courageous pier jumping. People asked are you ok? Sure, sure!!! NOT!!!  I assume the wind must have gotten knocked out of this person!!! Oh, not fun out of the water, much less in the water!!!

Barwick Pool was another place we got to go and swim. Aunt Tommie was tall and she would let us swim in between her legs, she also taught us how to swim. Thanks Aunt Tommie!!!

One of us liked underwater swimming and one of us did not. One did not mind splashing and one did! One did not like her hair wet and one could care less. One would jump off the diving board and one would not. One of us decided to be brave one day and strike out across the pool…dog paddling, no less!!! About the time she got in the middle of the pool she ran out of steam and had to grab the nearest thing, which happened to be one of the Thompson boys. LOL!! She had to ask for a small lift to the edge of the pool!!!

We have decided that Kylie gets her swimming technique from this sister!!!

I am so glad one of us has a memory because the other one did not remember all of this story, until her memory was jarred a little!!!

Fun childhood memories, sisters are the best!!!

Got this picture right before they covered it up!

A picture from the old days….not this is not either one of us. I do think the one on the right sitting is our cousin Paula! It even had a pool for the little ones!!! I almost forgot about that!

Last week as Kylie and I were trying to go to sleep, someone was snoring. Kylie was tired and she said, “how are we supposed to go to sleep with all that noise, we will never get to go to sleep!” I laughed and just moved Papa’s arm around some so he would stop snoring. She told me that was not going to work, but it did long enough for her to go to sleep! Too funny!

I know someone that loves this little boy very much and he loves his Uncle Cole!Recently Updated

Funny thing is…..he reminds us of him so much!!! Loves to be held, wants you to play with him, loves to go out side   !!! LOL!!!

Sunday…..got up and dressed myself first! Then woke Isabella and bathed her, dressed her in her pretty new dress. She was very tired…went to bed at 12:00, little night owl…but sleeped very well!!! She did not mind the dress, but the socks and shoes are a different story.

We went and picked up Cayla and Cayden and headed to Sunday School. They made it about 30 minutes  before they came and got us. We went right on up to the nursery, they are both at that age.

Next, out to eat. Next, took the tow C’s home. They fell asleep before we could get there. Next, home sweet home! Isabella played and then took another nap. Next, take her to her other G-ma’s house. Next, come back and rest!

It was a great, busy  weekend and oh by the way……I hate car seats!!! I mean, if you go around the block, you have to get back in the thing!!! I know they are best, but oh what a pain!!!

Guess who put in to spend the night after she got home from her Grannie’s, yep….Kylie!!!

Happy 27th to Cole and Josie!

Happy Birthday to the both of you!!!

2011-09-21

Yes, Cole and Josie share the same birthday, same age!!! They had a little celebration with some of their friends….good friends and good food!!! Leah got their cake for them..camo of course! Josie worked really hard on the Happy Birthday banner along with the whole event and it turned out really cute and nice.

They had a low country boil and oysters! It was a fun evening and everyone enjoyed it!

We survived the night, she did pretty good. This morning we had to get up, go get some baby food, her shoes and a few other things. Decided she needed a new dress for tomorrow.

Target was the first stop…she did well, likes to squeal in the store. She smiled at everyone and they thought she was a doll…so do I! Next stop, the Children's Place---nothing, on to Belk's---nothing, (and you can not push a stroller in Belk's) on to pick up her shoes we ordered from Toads and Teacups, found a dress, socks and hair bow. I am ready go home and so is she!!!

Now she is napping!!! Sweet pea!

Isabella

Isabella is spending the weekend….oh boy. She has never stayed away from her parents over night!!! This should be interesting!

Today I meet Casey and Isabella for haircuts! Isabella did fine once again! After haircuts, I just took her with me so Mom could get ready to go!

First stop----dry cleaners.

Second stop----Aunt Cayla’s to pick up something. Played with Cayden and these two were to funny. They both want the same toys, they both want to be in MamaJ’s lap at the same time! They speak what they dis-like in their own grunt language!!! Isabella was standing at the door, looking out. Here comes little man….it was not enough just to stand beside her, he tried to get in front of her just a little by putting his leg in front of hers…too funny!!! But, he was very excited to see and play with her…he was so happy. Two funny and cute kids!!!

Next stop….drop off stuff at good will!

Next stop….Hobby Lobby! Bless her heart she had fallen asleep and I had to wake her, but she was so good!!! She loved riding in the buggy. She smiled, tried to get things off the shelf and squealed quite a bit! I told her to be quieter, she laughed and squealed again!!! I think she liked the echo she heard!!!

Next stop….home!!! She has walked many a mile today, tried to eat paper…I told her she was not a  goat….she just smiled!!! She ate and drank, loved an ice pop. Took a nap, rode the golf cart…the only way I got her up from her nap…lol Papa rode her on the four-wheeler!

She got supper, a bath, loving from everyone and now went to sleep, around 9:40. She does not just fall asleep, she has flung her cloth diaper around, stood up, sat down, sat up, laid down, clapped her hands, sang, rolled, etc. Oh boy does she fight going to sleep!!! But she is a cutie!!!

Oh yes, she just does not quiet know what to think about Papa, she likes him when he rides her, when he is at his barn, but when he is in the house or our bed….she just does not understand that! She would not go see him in the bed….finally, I got beside him and said…this is my Papa!!! Well, that was all it took, she crawled right over and went to loving on him and then getting in between us!!! After that, she was just fine and continued to pester him as he slept! LOL!

She slept pretty good, but I know someone else who did not…lol!!!

Kylie--- Ky. spent the night one night this week. On the way home from swim lessons, she told me this had been the best day ever. I asked her, Why? She said, “Because we got to be together MamaJ!” She was like, well….do you have to ask! It was so sweet and made my heart just fill with love…..it will be way to soon before it won’t be this way, she will be too busy for older folks….I will treasure every moment!!!

Later that night we were watching a show she wanted to watch. I told her it was time for bed. She did get a few more minutes. Papa went to the den because he had his on show he wanted to watch. About the time I get her settled down, we hear him in the kitchen….then, she had to go to the bathroom. Now, she did not go to the one in our bedroom! No, she had to go to the one by the kitchen. I went to the door and hid and watched her.

She walked real slow watching her Papa, he did not have a clue she was out of bed. She went on to the bathroom, came out and stood over by the butcher block, where she could get a better view of what Papa was doing!!! He is still clueless!!!

Next he walks over to the toaster and is making toast, so I think! He has already been in the pantry and made his cereal. (She is not saying a word, just watching)

When he walks to the toaster, his back is turned to her….she walks on over to the counter where he was to check things out…..I am just giggling as I watch from behind the door. Finally, he sees her!!! They chat for a minute and she comes back to the room!

She said, “MamaJ, what is wrong with Papa?” (She is giggling!) “He was smashing up bread and putting it in the toaster????”  I am like, who knows….get in this bed and go to sleep!!!

After she feel asleep I went into the kitchen and saw hotdog buns out and the bread box open. Then, it occurred to me that he thought we were out of bread! But, another loaf was in the pantry beside the cereal. He walked in the kitchen and I told him what she said!!! He laughed and said he was smashing the hotdog bun so it would fit in the toaster, lol!!! I said, you know there was another loaf in the pantry?

No, he did not know!!!

Baby Einstein

Pulled out these DVD’s the other day and Cayden and Isabella love them!!!007

I spent the day with Cayla and Cayden today. It was lots of fun, but I am tired by night time!!! She does not think that her Mom gets tired, just as I did not think that my Mom and Mother-in-law got tired. I mean you can not know what it feels like until you walk there. It makes me laugh, because I was the same way and you just do not realize it!

Anyway, she had been wanting to get pictures in frames, the bedroom that Cayden will move to cleaned out and such…Ryan is having to give up his room, but he understands. I told him he might need to get him a storage building!!!

We got quite a bit accomplished Sunday and today. They moved furniture on Sunday and Ryan hung a few things for her.

Let me just say this, “It is about impossible to get anything done with Little Man”. He loves to be held and played with etc. If you are standing up, he wants you and will just hang right with you! I must say he reminds me so much of another baby that I knew…and his name starts with a C also….and he will have a birthday this weekend!!! LOL!

Pictures printed, laundry washing, dishes washed, baby fussing, mirror hung, prints hung, baby fussing-baby feed-baby rotten---LOL!!! Baby not wanting to go to sleep, call in back-up----Great-Grandma come help----please!!!

Seriously, I felt like we did not get much done until she came and held that Little Man!!!

Then we had a kitty-chasing, baby tending, house cleaning good time!!! Oh, the kitty chasing was the funniest!!! And I know this lady who has lots of cats, but she does not want them to touch her and she does not want to pick them up…LOL!!! You know who you are….hee haw!!!

I was so thankful we got some back-up!!! Then, I was so tired and ready to go home!!!

Cayden watched a Baby Einstein Movie today and loved it. We had it in the car and he really enjoyed it!

Cayden was fake burping today…lol. He burped so loud one time, we were watching Thomas the Train. So, I just let out a fake one, then said, excuse me. Well, he never took his eyes off the TV, and would fake burp….I would laugh and he would do it again, never looking anywhere but at the TV!!! Too cute!!!

Swim Lessons

Papa wants Kylie and all his grands to be good swimmers. Kylie has really worked on it this summer, but just really needed someone to give her the right way to swim, I guess you could say! I talked with Casey and she agreed and we enrolled her in Tiny Bubbles Swim School.

They teach them how to survive until someone can get to them, and how to get to the edge of the pool,  first! Then you can move on to stroke class. Now, I know she seems a little older, but really she has not been around that many pools, etc. We do go to the river and now her Nana Laura has a pool. So we just felt like it was the right time, and  you can see that she is ready to learn to swim!

Her first class was Monday and she did great! I watched several other kids, younger and older, I was so amazed! I feel like this is one of the greatest gifts we can give to our grand children!

In the first class they counted to three and went  under real quick, several times. Then they taught her to star fish…float on her back. Chin way high, toes on the blue line. (One of the first things her teacher asked? Does she have tubes in her ears? How long has she had them? She had her ear plugs in, but she really does not like her ears to be in the water…the tubes keep the ear open, so water can get into the ear drum!!! ) She also swam on her tummy, eyes open, feet are your motor, reach with your hands!

Going under, star fish, flipping from back to stomach, kicking with feet, reaching for the side of the pool!

Day Five of swim lessons, repeat of every thing learned so far. Plus, she sat on  a ledge down in the edge of the pool…they told her to sit on the ledge and then push off with her feet and find the instructors hands…under water. She did , several times!!! They have to remind her to look at the bottom of the pool, she wants to motor with her head looking forward in the water, which slows her down. Nice job Kylie!

Isabella’s Test Run

Last night Bart, Casey and the girls spent the night. Isabella is going to stay with us in a couple of weeks and she has not stayed away from her parents. She has both of them trained…lol!!!  So we wanted to see how she would do.

Isabella, Papa and I went to change the water on the irrigation, then we rode to see if we could see any raccoons.   We saw one far away and it ran back in the woods. Isabella did see the bright, pretty moon and hear some oldies on the radio!!!

We also rode the golf cart yesterday afternoon and she loved that!

I also kept her up so she did not get a late afternoon nap! Mean ole Ma J!!

She sleeps in the bed with them. She goes to sleep and wakes up at around 12:00 for a little bottle, then back to sleep. Now, she is drinking out of a cup, but we all know how they love their bottle!!! Last night we put her in the pack-n-play in our room, Kylie is in the bed with us, of course!!! She did wake up and fuss a couple of time, I just went over and patted her, gave her back her paci and she went back to sleep. She slept all night and had no bottle snacks! Way to go Isabella. She woke up early this morning and I put her in the bed with me, but it was time to get up and get Kylie to school. So Mom came and got her and off they went and Ma J went back to sleep, I just have a hard time getting to sleep when I have those little ones, and when I do not have them!!!

Kindergarten Kisses

Today, I picked Kylie up from school! Time she got in the car she started giggling. She then told me about these boys trying to kiss her as they were waiting to be picked up from school.

She told them they should not be trying to kiss her because her Papa would have to spank them!!! LOL!!! Then she said she turned her head and one of them said they kissed her while she was not looking!!!

She did not want to tell her Papa about this, but she told me I could tell him!!!

Happy First Birthday Sweet Isabella

A year ago today we were blessed with a second grand daughter! She is a sweetie and we love her so much! Happy Birthday!

She is so funny…she does not smile if she does not want too! She does not like shoes or socks. She is a girl of few words, but knows how to get what she wants! She does not like the feel of grass on her feet, yesterday I put her down in the grass and laid down beside her…..she climbed up on my stomach and sat with her feet up so she was not touching the grass!!! She crawls really fast. She is taking steps, but would rather you do the work! She gets jealous when Kylie or Cayden get in my lap. She loves things that are soft! When she wants to eat she will smack her lips, or keep crawling to the kitchen!

When she sees her Papa she gets really shy! She will tilt her head to the side and smile at him. She rode the 4-wheeler with him yesterday and loved it!

Isabella’s First Birthday Party

Isabella has lots of family, so it is difficult to find a place to hold everyone. Her Dad and Mom decided to go to “Jump and Jacks”, they have lots of bounce houses, slides, party rooms. It is big so it can hold a crowd.

They chose a monkey theme for her party and it was held the day before her birthday. The big kids and the little kids had a good time!

Isabella's First B-day 2011-09-093

This is my Mom and Dad, they spent lots of time making my first birthday special and it was! I love you Mommy and Daddy!

After the Grandparents breakfast it was time to go on over to Aunt Dots, I told them I would stay at the house during the funeral if they needed me to. Aunt Dot did not really want me to do that, but said if no one else could she would really appreciate it. Casey had called and wanted to do something and I told her to come over and that if she would stay there, then I would go to the funeral. She did and I am so glad I went. A sweet, sweet funeral… and I sat with Mom so that was good too! The church was running over as I knew it would be.

After the funeral I went back to the house and Casey and I ate a bite of lunch. Then they brought the flowers. Linda had told me to tell them just to put them  on the porch and bring one in for a table in the den! Oh my at the flowers…mostly plants!!! We brought them all in and sat them around! I did not want them to have to come home and do that, they are so tired. So Casey and I got to work and then I sent her on her way! Thank-you so much Casey!!!

They arrived home and Aunt Dot enjoyed seeing all of them! She walked and they told her who each one was from!

Grandparents Day

Today was Grandparents Day at school. Papa could not go because that is payroll day for him, but I could and did! It was so sweet and cute. The only problem, what if some had no grandparents that were living or could not come….I thought about that as I watched Kylie eagerly come through the door, smiling and looking for her grandparents! I knew none of my grandparents, except one, and I would not say that I knew her. I believe I saw her three times that I can remember!

But, it is a very sweet day and I enjoyed it. We had apple juice, donuts and we read them a story…they even were smart enough to pick out books with big print…love it!!! Her Nana Laura came also, which was very sweet!

2011-09-08

They also sang us a song, Nana Laura had to go on to work so she missed it, but it was just precious! Brought tears to my eyes!

2011-09-081

I think Kylie got nervous right before they started to sing…first picture. But she chimed right in and they made sure those babies could see their grandparents. Made my heart melt!

Above are the words to the song, the tune is where is thumb kin. (I think)

Her Grannie Connie could not be their and she hated it so bad, so she sent cupcakes and drinks, very sweet!

Got up and went to town today trying to find something to wear. Got a few things, came back by Aunt Dots. They were getting ready for the visitation. I stayed with Aunt Dot so they could all get dressed, etc.

I decided to sweep and mop the kitchen. Then, I went to check on Aunt Dot. Well, she had her clothes on and had dressed herself. I did help her do a few things! She was beautiful and ready to go! She said she has been dressing herself all this time and she did not know why they thought she still could not do it!!! LOL

Linda came back by to pick her up and as she was leaving she looked at me and said, “you still my youngin, I don’t care what nobody says.” Linda said, well that means she can still get the hair brush too then…..I said, and I probably did!!!

Locked up, came home and got dressed to go to the visitation. Did pretty good, except when I see Larry, then we cry…..he said, girl….you gettin to me, when I get around you…I loose it….you got to move on over to Sharon…lol!!! I did good until I saw Uncle Tom. Then, I lost it again. But, he looked so much better than when he was so sick. He looked peaceful. He had a tractor design on the inside top of his casket too, he wanted one just like Daddy’s. The blanket was made of sunflowers, cotton, pine, corn etc. Just perfect for him!

They had many visitors!!! WEll LOVED!

We went and ate with some of our kids afterwards and enjoyed their company.

Uncle Tom

CCF09082011_00000

Our family loved this man so much. We called him “Uncle Tom”, but he was like a second Daddy!  Our Dad’s farmed together and were really good friends. Two of the hardest working men you would ever find! And they knew how to work you really hard also! And we learned a lot from them!

Uncle Tom was always busy, always working, a hard fast worker! He and Aunt Dot are just two of the best people you could know. He was a big man, tall and broad and one would be scared of him if needed. He was rather quite from my eyes. He thought that I smiled to much at times when I was younger, he told me it was a good thing and to keep on smiling, but he just did not understand how I could just smile all the time….too funny!  Well, I was young and had no worries, life was simple and good!!!

Uncle Tom could get tickled every now and then and that was just hilarious cause he could laugh really loud! He absolutely loved horses and always had some around! He raised hogs, cows and many crops! I mostly remember tobacco!!! Oh the hours that we spent every summer working with him, Larry and Daddy. We did not have to search for a summer job…..we had three, tobacco, tobacco and tobacco! It was hard work. We were driving tractors in fields when the muscles in our legs were so little that they could hardly hold the pedal down. We would also get sleepy and might have run over a few stalks, which was not good!!! The older we got the more we learned and the more jobs we had!

This is the funniest story:

When Cole was a little boy, he and his Papa went over to visit with Uncle Tom. Cole had a piece of gum and needed to get rid of it. Uncle Tom told him that when he was little, they would take it and put it behind their ear and save it for later. Well, the adults went on talking and visiting and somewhere during this time, one little boy put his gum behind his ear….but he had hair!!! Well, I know that one old man got in big trouble for telling that little boy that story, from his wife, and some gum had to be cut our from behind a little boys ear!!!

After his stroke in 2002, he was not able to work and he would worry about Daddy and Larry….Larry was younger so I think he worried about Daddy more. But, I would go visit and he would ask about Daddy, and then tell me how much he appreciated Winston helping Jimmy, that’s a fine husband you got there, sugar. Tell him thank-you from me and that I am just sorry that I can not be out there helping Jimmy myself. I do not know why this happened to me, but it is what it is and I reckon I will just have to deal with it!

His brother in law passed in 2003, Buster Bell. He just did not understand why it could not be him instead of others. Then his dear friend, Jimmy Williams passed in 2006. When we went to see him, he said the same thing, “its just not right”. Jimmy was to young to die, he still had a lot of years left. But God did not see it that way.

I have visited off and on over the years. One of the last visits, I took my youngest daughter and her baby. When I walked over, I gave him a kiss and told him this was Cayla, my youngest and her baby, Cayden. He said, “that sure is a pretty baby, a fine one.”   I told Cayla that he was like my second Daddy. His eyes welled up with tears of joy and pride and he said, “thank-you honey, I really appreciate that, I really do” I walked over and gave him a hug and tried not to cry because we were going to his grandsons wedding. Thank-you God for helping me find the right words to give to such a special man!

Now, finally after many, many,  years of suffering he has his new body. He is not hurting any more. He is walking and talking and laughing and happy! I am so happy for him, but oh how he will be missed! So many precious memories, so many family members left with a vacant spot. A wife of 64 years, they have shared everything together! May God bless us and comfort all of us, this is not going to be easy.

I love you Uncle Tom!

While you are there, please hug my Daddy for me and tell him we miss him!

No more suffering!

I knew Uncle Tom was not doing well. Ms. Wilma had called and told me on Monday night. As I was traveling home on Wednesday morning at around 9:35 she called again and said that he had just passed and Larry said to call Jill and let our family know. She did and I appreciated the call and began letting the rest of our family know. As sad as we are, we know that he is so very happy! So many years he has not been able to get out and ride a tractor or golf cart, just bed-ridden. I felt the urgency to be back home with the snap of a wand, but not possible!

I stopped, gassed up and ran through a drive through. Between Eatonton and Gray, I get a call from Lila. Now, she is the one we were close in age with. Linda and Larry were older than us so most of our young days were spent playing and working with Lila. She wanted to make sure that we had heard the news. She told me that even though we did not see each other as much anymore that we were all still like family and that we were just bonded together, and nothing could break those bonds!  OK….I had been holding it together until Lila called…and I still did on the phone while talking to her. I tried to encourage her as best I could and told her that I would be back in town shortly and would see her tonight! Then we hung up the phone and I wept, and cried and ached for their pain. I know this pain, as they do. They loved my Dad just like I did, and love theirs!

I got home around 2:30. I had to get WB clothes washed up, get the payroll done for the week and I made to pineapple hot dishes to take over to the Lodge family.  Got dressed and put the dishes in the car, closed the trunk, began the drive over and before I get out the driveway, the tears! Oh yeah, I am not even over their yet.

Trudge on along, go the paved road because we had rain a few days ago. Get to the road to turn on… and the Road Sign says “Tom Lodge Road”! I know this, but seeing it….deep breath. Now this dirt road is the road that we traveled almost daily! Many memories, that I will talk about later…deep breath! Get to their house, go in the back door…..in the kitchen their are some of the people I love dearly. More tears, go hug my Aunt Dot…..more tears!

I stayed and helped Amber with things in the kitchen and we did have many laughs. So much love pouring out from friends, family neighbors and their church family!  As we are still in the kitchen and they were helping Aunt Dot get to bed….here she comes, in her robe. Amber said, Nana, I thought you were going to bed? She said, I am not going to bed, I am not ready to go to bed yet….I am not!!!  I said, OK everybody…did you hear that…the boss of this place is not going to bed yet!!! She and all of us just laughed! Here comes Lila, I told her…she is not going to bed yet, she is the boss and so you may as well forget it!!! She is going to be up for a while!!! Too funny! She is a very independent woman!

Today,  is also Larry, his sons birthday.        Larry said, “he had seen his Dad suffer so much the past years that his death was the best birthday gift he could have ever given him.” I must say that is true love, loving enough to let go of someone that you love so much!

The viewing will be Thursday night and the funeral Friday.
