SC Day Two

Went to church, ate Mexican...very good & thanks for lunch....chilled for a while & enjoyed the family! Missy & Alex were tired from such a busy week! David was tired from work, Dalton was bored & insisted someone take him fishing! Finally later on we ran him around to Murray Lake to fish. It was so relaxing & I enjoyed watching him fish. He does not like his picture taken, like Cole, but I did get a few! David cooked a delicious supper, then we watched Madagascar II. "I like um big, I like um chunky!" I also worked on their computer a little. We had another fun day!

SC Day One

Posted by Picasa Congrats from everyone after the recital. What a fantastic job they all did, I was truly amazed. This is definitely a form of art. It was a long day for these performers, as well as their Mothers! They had 2 shows! I was so proud of Alex. It was very hard to find her on stage, once you found her you had to keep you eye on her the whole time! Great job!

South Carolina Trip

I decided Friday afternoon that I would go and watch my niece perform at a ballet recital on Saturday. They have lived in SC for about a year & I had not been to visit in a while. Left around 5:30, found the quickest route, time wise and headed out. All was fine until I go on I-20 & got in to North Augusta....lots of construction. I also stopped by Sams to pick up a few items. Well, the detour signs we not that great & I spent a while trying to figure out how to get on I-20 East. I was not the only one trying to figure it out....except they were around 80 yrs old! Ha. Finally after about 45 minutes, I spotted a truck driving on a ramp that I thought was still closed....I began to look for the opening....just big enough to get your car through...no wonder we could not find it! They had quite a few of these....with a stop sign to get on the to the Interstate???? What??? Yep, its true! I did make it to their place in time to unload & get ready to go to the performance! David's parents had come down also, it was great to visit with them for a little...his Mom is so funny! We picked up flowers for Alex, found our way back to the auditorium..no comment...right Dalton...watched the first set, went to wild wings & ate, back to the second performance...then home. Thanks for the supper David & Missy!

Wisdom Teeth

Cayla had all of her wisdom teeth extracted today, she is doing surprisingly well, except for her tongue swelling a little more than others! Hope & pray it will not go south. Cole did well with his...had lots of swelling. Casey had a rough time...some swelling, I think she had a dry socket. Cayla has swelled more around her mouth instead of the jaw thus far! I have nursed several with wisdom teeth extractions....including Winston. Yes his came in after we married, started hurting on Thursday or Friday....would not call the DR! On Sunday, we called the DR....he took 2 out....a few months later....on Sunday, I do believe.....the other 2 were removed! I think that is enough nursing of wisdom teeth, am I any wiser from it....prob. not!!!

Engaged

Congrats to Bart & Casey on their engagement!! He asked her tonight, on one knee...I might add, what a sweet young man! Kylie wanted to know where her ring was! Ha! I must say God does say yes to some prayers. We have prayed that God would send someone, a Christian young man, that would be able to love Kylie as much they do Casey, and treat her as one their own. To be a good example of how ladies should be treated! We did not know who he would send, or when. But we prayed and he answered. We feel truly blessed and are so excited for them. Kylie loves Bart..who she calls Bark lots of times. Bart, welcome to this crazy family...but you already knew that! Ha!

Hearing

Took Kylie to the Dr. today for her post surgery visit. I got the time confused with another appt...we went at 9:30, instead of 1:30!!! We did not mind to much, we just went & visited G-Ma Bridges. Kylie told her she needed some lipstick...said she knew where it was & took off to get some! Then while sitting on the porch with G-Ma & Jen, she started laughing & said...she cracks me up! Martha thinks she must have been talking about Jenny Lynn. Funny girl! We got a good check-up & the fastest....it was about to rain. He asked how her hearing was, I said...I guess better...she told me that those birds needed to be quite..they were hurting her ears! After getting in the car, the flood came. Oh yes, she wanted the Dr. to check her eyes...they are running from allergy's.
Posted by Picasa Today when Papa got home we were out in the yard planting a few plants. Kylie quickly got Papa to check out something in the trees. He put her in one of them, she quickly told him to get her down...she was scared. Then she said...I not no squirrel, I not want to get shot. We have been killing a few squirrels, they are eating the house! It was so funny. Then he tried to coax her into climbing this tree with him....oh what Papa's will do for those grands!
A week of paper work...it never ends...you just start over! My brain is toast! No smart comments!

Jill

While at the barm today, Kylie started calling me, Jill. It caught me buy surprise. We all got a good laugh out of it..she really drew it out...hey Jiiill!

TO MUCH RAIN.......NOT GOOD FOR PRODUCE!!! YIKES!

Today Kylie & I went to the barn, ate lunch with Papa. I vacuumed his man cave & cleaned out his frige...I need to do mine!!! He is so funny, he likes everything in its place...tools, desk....frig....see where I am going! I almost hate to move anything! But, I did it anyway....he was steady checking out where I was putting things. I tried to remember where everything went & put it back!!! That is a task for me! Ha! He was glad I did it, but it was just at a busy time for him...farm full of employees. I told him to be glad that I was in the mood to clean....to bad the mood doesn't come more often!!! He was very thankful after it was finished, he tried to get me to pick up this big ole rug slam full of dirt & beat it clean. I told him that was not going to happen!!! That looked like a man job!

Girls Just Wanna have Fun

Kylie has been singing her version of this song, as she helped unload the silverware from the dishwasher!

Congrats to the family graduates!

This weekend I had a niece & a nephew graduate in Tennessee. Congrats to Christina Bridges & Johnathan Nance!! We are very proud of the both of you. I am so disappointed I did not get to come but we had to prepare communion this week. I also have jury duty on Monday, plus a few other irons in the fire! Thus is life! As long as you got those diplomas...that is the main thing!! Love you both...when I get a picture I will post it!Hmmmm! Thanks Martha for the picture...Christina with her Mom who is one of the best Mom's in the world!

What two old men say about the farm!

In years past we have had a couple of older friends help us on the farm. Mr. Jack & Mr. Walter. They were great workers, but they can also tell many tales about this farm. Mr. Walter says...it's not a job, it's an adventure. Mr. Jack says...once you enter those pearly gates you just don't know whats gonna happen, or what time your gonna go home! Mr Walter was here today & witnessed the snake adventures! These two have also watched many young employees come & go. It dose not take but a few hours to let you know if they will make it! They have watched our children grow up on this farm....neither of the girls like to pack produce!!! I can relate, but they should be glad we had quite growing tobacco!!! That will really kick your bottom! Just a few memories!

Poor Birdies

Well as you know I have been watching these red bellied woodpeckers for a while. Today, a snake crawled up their tree & invaded their home....I hate snakes! The Mexicans were throwing rocks & sticks, they had also noticed these birds. Winston heard the commotion...Cole got the gun & took care of the snake, which prob took care of the baby birds! There was another nest under the shed, and would you believe, another oak snake was on the rafters just leaving their home.....that is why parents should not leave their kids at home alone, just let them starve, I guess! But when they are teenagers you just might want to leave them at home alone...Ha! Just kidding, but some days....I might have thought about it! Love you kids!

Garden

I have been working on a couple of flower beds in my yard this week. I will prob be a little sore after today's activities...which is prob a good thing! Will post pictures later.

Thanks for a great Mothers Day!

Thanks to all my sweet kids for a sweet Mothers Day. I got 2 bird feeders & a kit so I can plug my ipod into my car & listen to it. I also added some plants to the yard...I did not need anything, but loved & will cherish the gifts & memories. I stayed home with Kylie so Casey could go to church, she had to work last week. We got Cayla to pick up some Smokin Pig...Winston & Cole were having to water since it is so dry. Trying to stay ahead on the watering is a task, the wells can only water so much at a time!
I just witnessed the sweetest Mothers Day wish in the world, & it came out of the mouth of a 3 year old!. I got Casey a gift certificate for a pedicure from Kylie. It was on a pretty pink paper...Kylie loves pink! I let Kylie sign it. When her Mom got home Kylie gave it to her, she could not wait! They did a few things, gave me a card & candy, then Kylie climbed up in her Mom's lap, wrapped her arms around her neck & said..Mom, I love so much. I just don't know how much you take care of me and Bart how much he takes care of me, & Mema J. Then she goes to Cayla, repeats the same words. Next was Austin, then me and she also talked about Her Papa..he was sleeping & how much he takes care of her! It was so sweet & she said it with such meaning, with those sweet little arms wrapped around our necks! Priceless! She is still on some meds...and they are making her wild....maybe that is where this came from...not!!

Little Trooper

We arrived at the hospital at 5:35 this am. We told Kylie we were going to let the doc check her ears. She was ok with that, but wanted to stay home & sleep! She got checked in, wore her bracelet proudly! In the new building they had a tv in the room so she had on her little gown & just sat on the edge of the bed & watched cartoons! They gave her meds to relax her. I held her after she got really relaxed...she leaned her head back on her Mom in the chair next to us & started giggling..it was cute! She told us she did not want to leave us. The nurse told her she was going to blow up a green balloon, get a sticker etc. We told her we would be a few doors down, waiting on her. She rolled down the hall in that big ole bed just like a big girl! She did not cry until she woke up. The nurses went above & beyond tending to her every want & need. She wanted her blanket, pillow, cup and her green balloon. They came & asked if she was supposed to have a green balloon. I sent Grandma Bridges to Winn Dixie to get a green balloon. We told her what the OR nurse had told Kylie she could blow up a balloon. It was the green balloon that they blow in to put them to sleep. They went, got one, blew it up as best they could. When they gave it to her she cried & said..it don't have a string on it. The OR nurse was surprised that Kylie remembered about the balloon! Martha brought the one from WD, it was cute...she wanted the one the ladies made her more! They wheeled her to the room in a recliner on wheels, she wanted her Mom...Casey got in the chair & held her. They gave her Demoral & Lortab to calm her after she woke ....and calm her it did. It was 11:30 before we got out of there. She had to drink so much fluid & go to the restroom. Never went to the potty, but did drink a little more. They finally got her to walk around & that woke her up the most, then they removed the IV & we were able to go home. She told she wanted to stay there with he DR. She was so sleepy! Went & got RX filled, purchase Popsicle's...... she told me she wanted the kind they had. Then told her Mom that she could have all she wanted of them...that's what the Nurse told her!! Thanks Martha for coming & helping us out...& for breakfast & the balloons! Your the best!

Happy Birthday Casey!

I can remember the day you were born like it was yesterday! I hope you have a great day! I love you, Mom.

Happy 23rd Casey

Posted by Picasa
We grilled some hamburgers for Casey's b-day, at her request! Bart got the cake, it was very good. Casey had received her birthday from us earlier...clothes etc. She got a pair of boots from Bart & a plant from Kylie. Where have the years gone?

Remember Kylie in your prayers.

Please be praying for Kylie & the doctors on Thursday as we will once again be putting tubes in her ears. Dr. Allen also wants to remove her adenoids. He said this would help with her allergies and her ears drain. The last time we did this was terrible...it was just exhausting for Casey & Myself. She did not want the arm band on her arm....she cried almost the whole time. She cried for 2-3 hours after she woke up. She would look at her Mom, them me & go back and forth. They said she would go to sleep after we left...not, but she did get better! I am sure she will be fine, its just hard to see them put to sleep. Thanks for the prayers!

Busy Day

Today I made myself do some filing that I had neglected. It took a while! I had to pack up 2008 paper work....for 3 businesses, not just 1. If I pack it up to early I end up digging through it because someone needs a copy of this or that! So, I wait until I can't stand it any longer!

Little Bird Watcher

Posted by Picasa
We walked to the barn today to check on the wood peckers & for Kylie to play and see Papa.
She played in the dirt for a while & pulled up a bucket to watch the wood peckers take food to their babies. After a bit I went in & got a coke, Kylie had one earlier. It did not take long before she came over to get some coke..she loves it. She told me that the coke her Mom had at home was yuck....it was diet rite cola. She asked what was wrong with it anyway? I told her it was a different kind, she said this kind was gooood! She pulled up a bucket, got out my camera book, flipped through the pages, said she was gonna watch the birds too. I wanted another picture of them flying. Papa came over & talked to her for a minute. When he left she said he scared the birds because he was talking. She said you have to be quiet when you bird watch.....she is never quiet.....lived with Moma J to long! This kid will crack you up!
