Happy Fathers Day/Early Birthday Surprise!

This past Sunday we had EB, Martha, Jenny, all of our kids, Joise, her Dad and brother. We ate at our house to celebrate another Father’s Day. It was a good day with some good food! This is still a pretty busy time on the farm, so we have to stay close. A pretty laid back day!

We also had a little surprise party for our Mother, Martha Helen! The funny thing, my kids were telling her Happy Birthday and she was saying…well, its a little early yet. She did not know what was going on or what they were doing! It was pretty funny!

I told her that we were always on vacation on her birthday and that this year we were going to celebrate it early!!! So….surprise!!!! Yep, we know it is not your birthday, but…… when do we celebrate any birthday on “the” day?   Very seldom! So, let the birthday festivities begin, early! I hate that we are always gone, but we are! So we just fixed that little problem this year!!!

Happy Birthday Helen, we love you!!!

Finally made myself go to the grocery, then went and got Isabella. They are having water fun at VBS tonight and Casey just did not want to try and keep up with two!

We rode the golf cart, went to the barn and visited with Papa and rode the four wheeler---she loves it, played on the back porch, took some pictures, watched a few cartoons, ate a baked potato and saw some mocking birds fighting in the yard!

We just had a sweet visit.

She is pretty quite and get’s in lots of things!!!

She will go in a room, pitch black and close the door!!! She tries to get back out, but can’t! So she will rattle the knob or hit on the door! She likes the toilet paper! She loves her Papa!

She is pitching some fits as normal toddlers do. She is biting also! She was good for me, until her Mom and Kylie arrived home….typical kid!

She is so sweet and precious! This is my favorite photo of this shoot!

She really did not want to wear the hat, but she did for a few minutes! The birds had her so distracted she could not concentrate on what I was trying to do….like she cared! LOL

I am belly down on the grass trying to get her pix. I went to check the pix on the camera….looked up and she is wiggling around…..trying to do the same thing! Too cute!

Woodpecker

Today was so funny! I had been hearing a woodpecker on the side of the house! I just did not think that much about it to begin with, but we do live in a cedar house. I did run them off a few times.

Today, they were getting with it, we rode the golf cart around that side of the house and oh my word…..3 to 4 holes in the side of our house.  Cayla said he might be in that hole and Kylie’s eyes got as big as saucers and a whole string of questions came.

What about if it gets after us in the house? Do you think he is still in there? We better go tell Papa. I want my bunny and bear, he will be poked a hole in them!  And she went in and got them after our ride, would not hush until she did.

I went out and shot in the air to run him off, once. It worked for a while, then…….I really thought it was thunder at one time when the ac was on.

After they all left, I walked out on the porch and fired off another round. Thus far, I have not heard them again, but I have several hole’s in the side of the house, after 15 years, I really wonder!!!

4 MORE HOURS!

Kylie spent the night last night. When I woke her this AM, she did not want to get up. She told me just to leave her here until I went and got the boys and brought them back. LOL! Right!

She helped most of the day. Cayden just gets so excited when he sees her that he wants to bite her!

All three of the younger ones are teething and they really just want to gnaw on something or someone. And it makes them so ill!

After I feed them today, and Cayden put creamed corn and rice on his head while Kylie giggled so hard she about fell out of the chair, we went to the barn to see Papa. Now, he is really busy this time of the year, but…..we go for short visits.

Time we got their, Kylie got on the stool and said, “Hey Papa, we really want you to make us some okra.” . And Cayden chimes right in with his “uh” talk. He walks over to the oven and tries to reach up and say’s…uh, uh!!! REALLY, I just feed them!!!

He is such a good Papa (or sucker) that he does it! And they wanted it so bad that they could hardly wait for it to cool! I put it in a bowl, placed it in the basket on the golf cart and brought it and them home. They were like two vultures, still trying to eat it before it cooled. They loved it and ate every bit of it!!! Sweet Papa!!!

We were all on the back porch, me feeding Bentley, Cayden playing and Kylie sitting beside me in the chair. My cell rings, I let Ky answer it, it is Cayla.

This is what was said:

Kylie-Hello

Cayla-Hey Kylie, what's Ma J doing?

Kylie- She is feeding Bentley and she can not talk right now and KK, you need to come get these babies, they bout to drive me and Mama J crazy!!!

Cayla-hahaha, Well, I still have 4 more hours of work. I can’t come get them now.

Kylie- FOUR MORE HOURS? KK, you need another job…and a good job!!!

Jill- BAhahaha! I promise, I did not say any of that…not today anyway!!!

Can I just say…..PRICELESS!!!

Drobbling

Kylie---  Mama J, watch out, he (Bentley) is drobbling (slobber) all over your hand!!!

Zap

Ma J- How was your day at school?

Kylie- Fine! I was climbing a tree today and got zap on my hands!

Priceless!!!

One, on one end of the couch and one on the other! We got sweet feet, short feet, skinny feet, fat feet! We got sweet feets!!!

We were up bright and early Friday. Casey calls and has got a pinched nerve in her neck and can not lift her arms, poor thing. That is really painful!

We head on to the funeral. It was one of the sweetest funerals I have been to. It was under a beautiful oak tree, sigh!!! Just what I would like! The casket was wood and it was so pretty, reminded me of my Daddy’s. Many pretty flowers were sent and they were surrounded by family and friends. The preacher who spoke, talked about how she loved the river and I understand why! He talked about how we are put here to die, and as Christians. That we do not know what others may have suffered along their journey, but that we all do in one way or another.

I just thought he was so real with his sweet message.

Josie, once again…one of the sweetest I have been too! I love you and know you will miss your Mom terribly!

Then, the funny part because there always is……Josie and Dan wanted the same plant that we sent, thank goodness there were two of them!!! Priceless!!!

Love you Josie!!!

This morning I took Bentley to the doctor, acid reflux-but to young for the medication….oh boy! Changed his milk. Left and went to Hahira to visit the Cowart family for just a few minutes, then went to get Cayden and deliver Mother’s Day gifts. We went to see my Mom and her new pad! It is very nice and just right for her! Then, we left and came home-----gave both of them a bath and now I must get ready for the visitation!

Cayla and the boys rode with us and Casey and Bart came later.

Her Mom is a beautiful lady. They had some pictures of their wedding and I enjoyed seeing those. The first thing Josie asked WB when he walked in….where are my boys? Bentley just loves her and she loves him!!! When we walked in she got her hands on him right away!

We did not stay to long, before we had to get back to the farm----change the irrigation!

Our sweet Josie lost her Mom today. I was getting my hair colored when Winston called me. Just hurt my heart to know she was hurting. The loss of a parent is so very difficult and the only thing that helps, is time. The hurt never completely goes away, but time does help for sure!

I came home, WB and I made supper for them and Cole took it for us. You should have seen that cake, but it tasted good! I was embarrassed to send it, but did any way!!!I did not have time to make another one. I did not want to stack it because I knew it would slide! It is the thought, right!

Prayers for all of them!
