Went to church today, then to Garners and had a little surprise party for Mom. Her birthday is Tuesday 08/28. We had some ice cream cake and such. We all went in & gave her a digital picture frame, now all we need are the pictures to put on it!!! The Garner girls really enjoyed the party, especially the trick candles!!!

08/24/2007- The Farm

Want to know what is happening on the farm? Well, the fall crops are planted for the most part as you can tell from the pict. There are a lot of white flies so you see the sprayer going. You also see the workers putting sticks in. This is so we can tie the peppers & eggplants to the stake when they get larger. One picture is of the tractor hooked to a big trailer of stick....the little tractor kept rearing up from all the weight. It was funny, but scary. I called WB and told him, he sent Booda up to handle the task!!! They were all hooping & hollering in the field when it was popping up!!! They don't see the danger!!

08/22/07/Cayla 17th

Today Kylie & I went to town to get a b-day gift for Cayla & get groceries. We also stopped by Macado's , the dry cleaners, and several other places. Kylie was very good! At Publix she road in the cart that looks like a car, has a steering wheel!! She enjoyed that. She also wanted to eat everything in the cart!!! She was so friendly to everyone she saw!!! Today is Cayla's 17th b-day. I just can't believe it!!! We bought her a couple of pair of earrings, and a scrapbook for her Sr. Year. She also got a new bed spread earlier. We all went out to eat at Austin's for her b-day. Winston, Cole, Casey, Kylie, Cayla, Austin, Earl and myself. It was a nice night. Thanks goodness for ON STAR!!

Kylie

After Kylie woke from her nap today, I saw the Humming bird! I got Cayla to get her while I grabbed the camera. I flew out the door & went around back to the feeder. No luck... H.B. was gone and Ky. was crying for NaMa. I decided to let her swim in her pool for a bit. She tried to catch a butterfly again, stuck her foot in a ant bed and played in the water. Cayla came out & joined us. It was her pleasure to squirt Ky with the water hose! Ky loved it!!! After Cayla went back inside I was sitting on the steps with Ky. Guess what came & landed beside us on the flowers.......a Sphinx Moth !!!!! (Never saw or heard of this moth, thought it was a Humming Bird, along with several other people, found out on the net what is was!!! )I just sat & snapped pict. Came back inside....Ky. ready for supper!!! Chicken, cheese & watermelon!!! After Casey got home, I looked out the window again, HB at feeder, same scenario, I did get some picture but this HB much wiser than other HB. I will try & upload some pictures of todays events! What a blessed day!

Just to let you know

Today I did some bookkeeping, like everyday, took the dog out, ditto and laughed at Kylie chasing butterflies! It was so cute I had to video it!!! She also got her first ant bites, she did not cry, just stomped her foot. Had I not saw them I would not have known. We also got Papa to take us down to the train track & watch the train. I took pict. of course and the conductor waved at Kylie. She just looked at that big train. It runs right by our field so we get a close look!!! When I was little I remember loving trains. I was amazed to watch them on the track. I remember Santa bringing me one when I was little, it was metal, wish I still had it, but it would not stay on the track. I remember it making a whistle sound. I sat for hours & played with it. I also got tired of it not staying on the track!Ha! My Aunt Jean & Paula would ride to Tennessee on the one that used to leave Valdosta.....I just wanted to go with them so bad, just to ride on a train. Oh well, maybe one day I will take a trip on one!! My Mom's step dad was a conductor in New York.....Grandpa Steve. He was a big man with a deep voice, funny and kind! We only saw them once a year when they came through going to Florida, more about them later, but he had some train sets in his home mom said! Every time I see them set up in store I am drawn to them, even at my age.

08/06/2007 Senior Breakfast

Today my baby girl began her first last day of high school. In keeping with tradition, a breakfast was held by the SR. parents in honor of our children. Emmett & Martha Bridges provided the venue for this special occasion and we appreciate their hospitality so much! A week before school began a meeting was held to discuss fund raisers etc. Also, a surprise was planned in keeping with a new tradition. In the past few years all Sr. have arrived @ school together in some form. Then, are the last to enter chapel and sit in their special area. This year a Dad suggest they arrive by way of motorcycles!!! We all agreed, great idea. Many family & friends gave of their time & means to pull this off. We are so grateful for their unselfish acts of kindness. Thank-you!!! After serving breakfast we all made our way outside for pictures!!! (and to wait on the arrival of the bike's) They all kept trying to go on to school, said they were going to be late!!!Ha! We told them it would be o:k! Finally, we could hear the rumble of the bike's & their faces were priceless!! They were excited!! They arrived at school on cool bikes while the rest of the school lined the street to welcome them! It was a special day. Cayla asked, "How in the world I was able to keep that surprise from her"? It was not easy, she wanted to know about the breakfast! I told her it was all taken care of, not to worry!!
