And then we decided we would take a picture on top of this bear structure! You can not tell in the picture, but his neck and head slant downward! I felt like I was going to fall forward. He also had groves cut into him so he was not smooth and you just could not slide forward!!! Way to much laughing!!! Tons of fun and great friends! For some reason, I think someone had taken a picture here before!

Maryland Day 3

Enjoyed visiting and eating with friends. Later in the day we went for a drive up the mountain to a man-made river rafting complex. It was pretty cool. We say one girl in a canoe…turn over & get turned upside down for a little bit…then the instructor had some problems…hmmm. Took a few pictures!!! If you could have been right here on this rock with these two hilarious girls…oh my….to funny…they can strike some poses, and all I could do was laugh at them…good times !!!

Maryland Shopping Sunday Afternoon

Tammie, Dee and I did squeeze in a little shopping. The problem was we stopped at the Tourist Trap, and the Christmas Chalet!

Yes….the Christmas Chalet!!! Oh boy…lets just say that I took care of my ornament buying that I do every year. Since my kids were little, they have gotten an ornament every year and when they get married they take them and they have some ornaments for their first tree.

Tammie bought this ornament for me and I love it and every Christmas will think of her as I hang it on my tree! Thank-you Tammie!

Maryland Day Two

Well, we stayed up late last night visiting and laughing with friends… after we went out to eat….late…of course. When at the lakes you are on lake time! I slept in, two late nights in a row….not! I missed breakfast, WB cooked french toast…I ate if for brunch. Some had hit the lake again and WB wanted to play golf. I had my camera and wanted to take in some mountain air, so I went along for the ride and it was just beautiful!!! Can I just say….lots of pix! Later that afternoon we caught back up with everyone and Dee cooked supper for everyone…..I was on the clean up committee!!! Late visit again, but not as late as the night before, fun times! We also rode the mountain coaster…..lots of fun!!!

Maryland Trip Day One

We have been planning a trip for several months with friends from High School. Dean and Tammie have a house at Deep Creek Lake and invited the Kings and Bridges to come and visit. We were going to drive, but due to some knee problems, one of us could not sit in a car that long….without stopping every couple of hours to walk!!! We had planned on leaving on Thursday morning, but some other things came up so we decided we should wait until Friday. So we booked a flight for Friday morning.

After the lovely shower on Thursday night, we were at home and wide awake from all of the excitement. WB looked at me and said….your not sleepy are you…..how am I going to get you up to catch the flight in Jacks. in the morning? We decided to put our bags in the car and head out to Jax, get a room close to the airport. We left around 11:30! Arrived safely, got some sleep and boarded our flight to Charlotte NC after some rest! The airport at Charlotte was packed! We did not have a long time to catch our next flight, but we made it!

Next part of the journey, on to Pittsburgh airport…arrived safely and stood in line an hour to get our rental car…and we were second in line!!! One of their cars had been impounded and part of the staff were taking care of that….left this one staff member to deal with those arriving….around 60 people for the next 3 hours! We did get the car, left and got lost!!!! In the fast departure from the house…someone forgot the map!!! I did print directions from the resort where were staying. But, someone was not paying attention….while someone was driving and we missed our turn. I knew we needed to be going south, but we were going east. We did stop and had missed our turn by just a couple of exits. Got back on course, we were starving, but someone did not see anything they wanted to eat. Finally, we pulled over to buy a map….and they had a Subway…..someone said….I am eating right here and you can do whatever you want!!! We both ate and felt better after we did.

On this interstate, we got in some one lane traffic due to construction….to the tune of at least an hour. Tammie and Dean called to check on us and told us to head toward Friendsville and confirmed we were headed in the right direction! Great! But, I really wondered if we would ever get to this exit!!! We did and saw some real pretty country side along the way, so WB tried to snap a few shots!

We arrived safely and met up with Mickey and Dee who informed us they had built a fire in the fire pit the night before….we all bought a sweat shirt!!!

Showers of Love

Tonight we gathered at a dear friends house for a lovely shower given in honor of Cayla. It was right up the road at Linda Cooper’s house. She was so kind and sweet to host this for Cayla! So many friends and family came to show their love and support and I will forever be thankful to everyone! A special thank-you to: Linda Cooper , Cindy Ellis, Barbara Colson, Mary Jean Armstrong, Vicki Copeland, Debra Deloach and Martha Bridges!

So many people came and we had so much fun, everyone had a great time visiting!!!

We surely must count our blessings because we were showered with so much love!!!

We are going to Maryland to visit a dear High School friend. We were supposed to ride with Mickey and Dee King, but after vacationing in a home with lots of stairs, WB’s knee will just not let him. So, we will fly!

After the shower we decided to hit the road on down to Jacksonville and stay close to the airport. Yes, we left around 10:00 and arrived around 12:00! So excited!

Happy Birthday Helen!!!

Today is my maw-in-laws birthday. I called and invited her for lunch and a pedi! She is always such a big help to me and is there for me 99% of the time!!! Occasionally, she has plans and just has to fulfill those obligations….but is a constant friend to me and I love her dearly! The first thing we had to do was return borrowed items we had used for the wedding. Then we were off to Covington’s, it was so good. A few more errands….a camera case, a card and a external drive…. and then a much needed and well deserved pedicure, we had so much fun! We upgraded her camera for her and I know she will have a great time taking pictures. Then we went to her house and studied the camera and tried to hook up a modem that BellSouth sent…that did not work! A super great day and I hope she had a fantastic day. I can never repay for all of the nice things she has done for me…the best maw-in-law and friend!!! I love ya Helen!

Ryan and Cayla’s Wedding

In 2010, our youngest daughter married…..out our house…yikes!!! Oh well, it turned out beautiful, and let me just add…plants are necessary to hide things that just need to be covered (or hidden)!!! So many friends and family came together to help all of this come together and I will be forever grateful to all of them!!! We could not have done it without each and every one of them!!! Here are a few pictures…I am sure I will post others later!!!
