Faye

Just wanted to let you know we did not let Faye slow us down to much. We ate out Friday night. I had to go get Cayla a cake on Saturday, plus I had some gifts to buy. Martha met me & we got wet together. We also got pedicures. It was so nice, we enjoyed...until Martha dropped her cell phone in the tub for your feet....yep, it was full. That guy went to fishing in that tub with his hand & of course we did not know the phone had dropped! They were so nice, they took the battery out, quickly, & dried it in front of the fan. After a day or so the phone is working fine!!!

Happy 18th Cayla

Cayla & friends were going out to eat and to a movie on her b-day...Friday. Well, Faye had a few things to say about this. Some of the girls were a little worried about the weather and rightly so! They canceled & will reschedule. She did enjoy lunch at Red Lobster with her grandparents, Jenny & Casey. That night we brought her home a steak....she had a candle light dinner!! As the night went on she was not feeling well. Sat. was worse, Sunday throat hurting....we did her cake Sun. night. I bought this cake & it was not good, will use a different bakery next time! Today we went to Dr., she may have strep.??? Cayla & her friends did go eat & to the movies a week after her birthday!

Valdosta Technical College-Casey

Well, it looks like we are going to have two students at Val. Tech. After 2 1/2 years, MommaJ finally feels like she is able to survive, while Mom goes to school! It was just impossible until now! We are so excited for Casey to be able to further her education!!! We thought, well we can wait until Kylie goes to school & still be 2 years behind where we are, or just go ahead & take the plunge!!! We are diving right in. Just pray that we will not kill each other during this time! Also pray that the girls will have the strength to persevere during the tough times! They will also have to be accepted into the program!!! It may take more time to finish but I know they can do it!!!

Casey Ready to go to college.

Last week Winston & I decided to talk to Casey about taking some classes along with her sister at the tech college. Cayla is there now. With Casey being a single mom she will qualify for a pell grant. She wants to go to school also, but will need to work to pay her gas & phone bill. She filled out the papers and found out today that she did receive 2 grants. We are very excited. She sill take a math class to help her with the algebra. And a computer class.

New Sewing Machine

Today Winston was playing in a golf tournament, everyone else was just hanging around the house. I decided I needed to get out of the house. I went to Hahira to the fabric store...Sew Blessed! The ladies are so nice. Well, my sewing machine is around 24 years old. I have wanted a new machine that would sew & embroider. Well, today was the day. NO, it is not the one I really wanted, but I do not sew as much as I used too. I just could not merit paying what some of them cost. I found a Platinum 955. It was half priced and sews & embroiders. I checked to see if it made a pretty button hole. Why, of course it did!!! I bought it!!! I am waiting on the manual...they could not find it. I did make a practice button hole. I don't have any practice fabric either...will get some soon!!! When I told Winston about it he said, "How much did that cost me?". I told him, not to worry, it was just another gun!!! He laughed! He knows that I have a hard time buying things that are expensive! He also knows it was a good price if I bought it! He is very good to me. Thanks a Million Winston!

It was very strange today knowing that school was beginning today. At our house no one had to get up & go to school. It is kind of sad. But, we are moving on to another season in our lives! My nieces & nephews are going today, some of them! I have a niece & nephew who are beginning their senior years. I hope & pray that they both have the best year! Another niece & nephew are beginning new schools...one- High School & one- Middle school....in a new state! I know they will be a bit anxious & I will be thinking of them praying that the transition is a great one for them! I wish all of them a great school year! Kylie was up at the crack of dawn this morn....8:00. Ready to rip & roar, and she has!!! She is so funny, she is really talking and letting us know what she wants & needs! Today her Papa walked in, he can't understand her to well, she asked if he was finished with work? He answered, yes. He really wasn't! She then said, you need to go golf then! She also pooped in her pull up, took it upon herself to take it off & throw it in the trash. Then she came & told me.....bath time!!!

Jenna's Visitation

Well, tonight my Mom, daughter Casey and myself, reluctantly got dressed to go & pay our condolences to the Price family. I know everyone felt just as we did. You get it the car, blow out a deep breath, & say...man, I do not want to go & do this. But it is the only thing you can really do to pay your respects to her family, and to her! Just to let them know you care and you love them and have compassion for them. Roger was just pitiful as any of us would be. I just can not imagine the hurt in his heart. We gave him big hugs, told him we are sorry and that we love him. Talked to Mr Herbert & Ms. Pat too! We got to see HR, her brother as well. We got there early so Mom would not have to stand for so long. They had the books to sign out on the porch, which helped traffic flow. They had pictures and a slide show that were just precious. But tearful. We did not hang around at all, everyone was pretty quite and serious. When we left there was a line for about 2 blocks, and that was early! God help them please!

My Student-Jenna Price

My heart is so heavy & saddened today as I received news that a precious student I taught in preschool, life had ended. Her name is Jenna Price. I have kept up with her over the years. She is my son's age & they have been good friends over the years. Carnivals, hog shows etc. I can just see her bouncing around the class room, she was a very good helper. I attended school with her Dad, Roger, many years ago and also enjoyed her Mom's, Holly, friendship. Holly died in 2006 from cancer, she was so vibrant & full of life. I also love her Ma Pat. Just recently I have done some painting for Ms Pat and Mr. Herbert, I just love them & my heart aches for them & their loss. Jenna also has a brother who I know loved her so much and I know he will miss her terribly. May God lift them up & hold them in his hands. This has affected our whole community.
