Church day....Ky went to her new class. Aunt Cay stayed with her. She made it through communion today plus a few songs! Then, that was it. We went to eat & then to get some shoes & socks, then to visit Uncle Tom & Aunt Dot. They asked about all of you & said to tell all hello! I believe there are around 33 in their family now!!! Had a good visit.

Today Ky & I visited with my Mom, Nanna. She came over to see Ky. We laughed about old times & played with Ky. Had a fun time. Then Ky & I continued to tare wall paper off the kitchen walls, a long process! Ky will stay right with me, she seems to enjoy the demolition. Winston & I went out to eat by ourselves, which does not happen very often, I told him to leave his cell in the car but he wouldn't. Half way during dinner, one of our workers called, he was in jail. He was pulled over for speeding, not very much over the limit, no license, go to jail. We went by after dinner & gave him a ride home!!!Just another typical day on the farm!!!Ha!

Today, 23 years ago , we were blessed with a little bundle of joy! A baby boy! I can remember that day like it was yesterday! Cole had a little trouble trying to make his entrance into this world. His heart rate went down to 15 a few times so they decided to do a c-section. Winston & the rest of the family were all nervous because I was having some complications. I think I was the only one not nervous, must have been the Demerol! But God blessed us with a little cone head baby!!!09/25/07 Grandma Bridges made him a chocolate layer cake, it was delicious!!! I did make him take it to his house today because it is to tempting for a chocoholic!!!! (Cayla gave Ky some of it last night & she would smack her lips & say yum, yum wanting more!!! Cayla was cracking up, it was funny!!!) We have been blessed by our Cole Cole and we are proud of him! Happy Birthday Cole!!! We Love You!!! Oh yea, I sang Happy Birthday to you right before I cut your cake. We just could not wait on you any longer!!!Ha!

I went to the dentist this am for a cleaning. I took Ky with me! She did great! She did fuss at the hygienist a little for messing with her Nannie Ma. I told her she was brushing my teeth for me like I do hers! That satisfied her, along with the flat screen t.v with Dora on! She just sat in my lap & watched Dora! We went Wendy's & then came home. She is so tired from being at her Dad's & also Sunday's get her out of her routine! So Monday's are tough!

Church day, out to eat, groceries. After the above activities, Cayla & I went to Quitman to the Old Folks home and visited. We saw Mrs. Baker, Mrs. Bee Lee and Aunt Jean. Aunt Jean seemed to be having a good day. As Cayla & I opened the stairwell door, Ronnie & Paula were wheeling her out of her room. When she saw me, she immediately said,"Well look, there's Jill. Her eyes welled up with tears as did all of ours! We visited and caught up on the latest news with our families. As each day passes, we are all aging. It is so hard to see loved ones unable to go about their daily routine. Aunt Jean, as I remember her from my childhood, was always busy as a bee at her house!!! She was always cleaning, and it showed!! Now I must say, I could use a few lessons from her! I have so many fond memories of Uncle Julian , Aunt Jean, & Paula! Paula, Lynn & I were all close in age so we do have some memories! I told about the train to Tennessee before....I just could not imagine that train taking them from Valdosta to Tennessee! One time, Lynn & I rode with Uncle Julian to pick them up. Now bear in mind, we had never been out of the state of Ga! Back then we did not wear seat belts. We rode in the back window, floorboards, on top of the seats, the hood...just kidding, not that we would not have tried it, we were so excited we were all over the car!!! There was also one questions that we kept asking... Are we about there yet? Uncle Julian was a saint when it came to patience!!!! He would just say, naw gals, we aren't close yet. Then he would say; naw gals, it's gonna be awhile yet, we still have a way's to go; well, we are getting closer. I remember getting so stir crazy! I also remember asking, "Just how far is this place anyway? When he told us how far & long it would take take to get there , we were thinking(and I am sure we said it) we should have stayed home!! You must also know Uncle Julian did everything at a nice slow pace! Ha! We finally arrived and I am sure he was as glad to get out of that car as we were. We stayed with Grannie Crocket, Aunt Jeans mother. Played croquet, went & visited her Aunts & Uncle, one had monkeys & birds. Lynn remembers going to Stuckey's to eat on this trip & the cigar smoke burning her eyes in the car. She said her eye's were burning so bad, we did finally ask him to crack the windows. Yep, every time he rolled them up we would wait a few minutes & ask him to roll them down again! He probably needed to smoke with us in the car! More memories on this later! Ky came home at 5:00 & we were glad to see her!

09/15/07 Why Every Woman Needs their own drill!

Wonder why? Yep, that's right, a woman needs her own drill! Ya just don't need to have to ask your hubby to go down to the barn & get his drill, so you can hang a mini blind(notice I said..you). Especially if he has already removed the old washer & dryer, took down the old blind, had a long day at the golf course & is watching a football game! The worst thing is, you don't have to ask them to hang it, just ask for another piece for the drill...they will assume you want them to hang it!!!Heehaw!!! Now don't get me wrong, they will help ya take down the old one & would be glad to rehang the other... right away, it shouldn't matter if ya still need to paint the room! A little yellow paint on your wood mini blind wouldn't hurt a thing, now would it!!! Yep, it's funny now!!!! Your hubby will be more than happy to take you to the Home Depot & buy you a drill, why shucks, mine even came with a cordless skill saw!!!!! I might even get carried away and saw the bed in half! Hee haw, now wouldn't ya like to hear & see that!!! Just kidding!!! Yep, I got my own drill & saw now! I'm ready! I do have a blind to hang in hubby's office, but I think I will wait awhile!!! Another piece of advise, after 25 years, learn to laugh through these types of situations!!! Oh yea, the new washer & dryer were installed by Home Depot!!! He did not have to touch them at all!!!! Nice & peaceful!!!

Just worked around the house today, Ky is at her other families house this weekend, so I will work on a few things I need to do. I worked on removing more wallpaper in kitchen. Cayla decided to paint her bathroom so I helped her get that finished. Looks nice! We had fun & were able to spend time together!

9/19/07

Took Ky. to her to ENT to have ears checked, good visit! We went to paint store to get paint for the doors, ugh! Next, to the bank, Chick-fil-A.... yum, Hobby Lobby, gas up the car, go through the car wash.....Ky. does not like that very well. Especially at her window! On to walmart, post office and then home....still no nap for ky....I need one!! We watched a movie when we got home and then walked down to the barn. Pa rode us in the hawg, we watched the train and then we picked some flowers for Mom! Pa & Nannie Ma went to the Dollar General to get you milk. When we came back Ky & Casey came out to greet us. She took each of us by the hand & would pull us toward the back yard. She said mone for come on. She took us around to the back stoop & got us to sit down. Ky just laughed & wanted us to turn on the bubble machine. She has us right where she wants us!

09/13/2007

I went & got my hair fixed today. Great -Grandma Bridges and Aunt Jen Jen kept Kylie for me!! I am so thankful they are willing to help me, I could not make it anywhere without them! Thank the both of you so much!!! I know Kylie helped Granddaddy shell some peas! I did not get to visit due to groceries in the car! Jen had to postpone her cleaning for the day! Thank-you Jen!!! I love ya!

It's Harvest Time!! It is time to pick our vegetables, an exciting & very busy time for the farm! Some of the pict are the day before they began picking & then some of the actual first day of Harvest! God has surely blessed us! I am blessed by having a husband that is a hard worker! He loves to farm & loves providing for his family! He has a heart that is very giving & I am so blessed to share in his life! Thank you Winston for all of your hard work & love for your family! We do not know what the future holds for farming with all of the labor problems & laws, but we will enjoy it while it is here! Be sure and pray for the farmers in America...I really do not want to be eating food from other countries. They can spray anything on their crops without much regulations....and then we import it...go figure!! Our gov't is just grand!!!

09/18

It will be Ky. & myself until late tonight, Casey has a class. It has been another beautiful day. Windy & cooler. I decided to wash Ky. pallet and bun bun this morn. Well, it was fine until she saw her bun bun through the window in the washer. She pointed & said, bun bun! I got it out for her of course!!!That is a down fall of having this type of washer!!!Ha!I did wait until it was clean!

09/17/2007

It is Monday, everyone is tired from the weekend, even Ky. She is extremely ill. She is cutting a mouth full of teeth and has every right to be ill! But it is not fun! She slept for a total of 30 min. today. New appliances will be delivered today. It is after 4, they just called & are running late. Cayla, Ky. & myself took a blanket outside and laid around to enjoy the nice windy afternoon. Ky laid back & checked out the leaves and sky, then up & running again. App. delivered, now we need detergent with HE on it! Morven...does not have it....go to Q-town... Rite Aid nor Harvey's has it... Back to house. At 8:30 Cayla and I went to Walmart & got the detergent!!!Now we can wash!

09/15 & 16/2007

I worked on (finishing up) painting the laundry room. Another coat of paint on walls, everything is all over the place!! I also did a faux finish on the floor. Went to church, next time Kylie will move up to the next class....it is time...she barely fits in the seats in the tables! They move up at 18 months. After church, went to Lowes..got sealer, rugs & window treatment! Put sealer on floor!

Cole's Wild Pig's.....pig 9/2007

I just have to blog this while I have it on my mind! Emmett, my father-in-law, has quite a few wild hogs on his farm. A friend of his comes & sets traps to catch them, they fatten & slaughter them! Well, Cole decides he needs some pork in his freezer. Now, he goes over & gets 2 wild pigs. (Where do you think he is going to keep them??? )He puts them in his dog kennels in the back of his truck to bring them OVER HERE!!! Well, he lets down the tailgate, gets 1 out, turns around to put it in the pen. Well duh.....the other one squeezes through the bars of the kennel & high tails it through the yard & into the woods!!Hee Haw!! So now he has 1 pig!!! Now you know we grow produce on plastic & any animal with hooves can poke holes in it & eat the veggie's!!! His Dad was not to happy bout this as u can imagine!!! I finally saw this pig yesterday...(10/01) & I can tell ya this, gonna take a whole lot a food to fatten that po thing up!!! I believe it would be just as cheap to go to Sam's or Publix & buy some pork!!!!

09/12/07

Kylie slept late again! Eat breakfast! Pa Pa came in & got spaghetti to take & eat at the barn, Kylie wanted to eat again!!!
I changed Kylie's diaper today, in a few minutes she came to my desk & was standing by my chair when I hear the sound of something landing on my mat under my chair. I looked down & there was a puddle. "I said what in the world"? Pulled up her shirt & she had taken her diaper off!!! Clean up on aisle 1!!! She did not want to put it back on, so I put training pants on her....clean up on all aisles!!!! We did get a diaper back on!
Ky did take about an hour nap!
Pa Pa came by & helped me put her play house on the screen porch, (out of her bedroom)! Then we played in it for a time, she even had me in it!!!
You also had ice cream today! Then a storm blew up so we came inside!
(Yesterday we had a storm & it laid all of our cubanelle peppers on the ground!!!Not a pretty sight, they will string them to stakes and stand them back up!! this is not the first time this happened, handling it better this time!!! )
While it was raining we laid on the couch & watched a movie. Then I hear this noise, you know, like when someone is snoring. Ky. is laid back pretending to snore!!! I asked her if that is how I sound!!! She just laughed!
After the storm we took Sydney out, played on the porch & had our Bible time. You will make the motions to: Roll the Gospel, & today we also sang This Little Christian Light of Mine....you really got in to the, no, I'm gonna let it shine part!!!
Picked up some limbs, your Mom is home, now you have her in the play house!!!
You are such a blessing and you are so pleasant!
You speak to everyone, greet them with a smile and blow them a kiss!!!

09/11/07

We had a storm come through our farm today and our produce took quite a beating. It actually laid our pepper plants on the ground. The squash fared better since it is a tougher plant. They will go over them, stand them back up and restring them to the stakes! We had this happen about 9 years ago.

09/11/07

Today we went to your 18 months check up! (I had to wake you up today to get you ready!) On the way to the office, I looked back & you had your sunglasses on top of your head, just like we wear ours when they are not on our eyes! Then you adjusted them around a little. I caught a couple of shots of this. You had a good check-up, changing you to 2% milk. You are 32 in tall, 29 lbs.You also got 2 shots. We went to Walmart and bought some milk. Now we will take Sidney to see her Dr. & get her shots. On the way you want to hold her....see pictures!! We take her in and get her check-up. You did not want them to take her from me. After her visit she chased you around & around the table, you got so tickled!!! They also had a big fish aquarium that you enjoyed!!! Later this afternoon after Ca Ca arrived home we took your sidewalk chalk, went on the front porch & drew. I think Aunt Ca Ca enjoyed it as much as you! Later we rode with Pa Pa in the Hawg, and then you swam in your little pool until your Mom came home from work. She feed you & rocked you. You went to sleep early because you did not take a nap today!

09/10/07

Today we just had a typical day. We went to the bank, post office & the Dollar General. We bought you some sidewalk chalk. We played outside & when your Mom came home she played with you!

09/08/2007

Painted my laundry room today!!! Have to get new washer & dryer, decided to freshen up walls before they come!

09/07/2007

I had to wake Ky up this a.m., she did not want to get up, still not feeling great, but better. (She will go to her Daddy's tonight.) Feed her, got all of her items loaded up as well as food for the dinner. Delivered food to Carters, took Ky to G-Gma's. Ca & I went to Sam's to pick up chops. Boy, did we get some looks & comments!!! Headed back to Carter's. Wash chop, slice desserts, get ice, plates, napkins....etc. The class & parents did a fantastic job with the dinner & it was a success! The chops were very good as well as the rest of the food. John & Tyler were the only guys there & they were a great help!!! The seniors have moved up from Reed Bingham Park to the Atlanta Aquarium for their Sr. trip!!!

09/06/07

Ky & I went to the GCS to pick up a check for the Pork chops, then over to the venue for the event. Winston & Sue Carter have a nice building that they built & are very kind to share it with many people! Some of the class came over & helped set up tables & chairs for the event! Went by G-ma Bridges to feed Kylie a bite and headed home. Cooked our food for the dinner, looks like we have sold around 300 tickets! Also had to do payroll!

09/05/07

Kylie & I went to Doctor. They said the Dr. in Blakley gave her the wrong type of ear drops, he should have given the suspension not the alkaline type. This is burning because of the tubes in her ears, you would think he would have known this since his girls had tubes!!! We now have 3 RX for her!!! Aunt Ca Ca came to Dr. office & helped us. You were glad to see her. You would open & close the door. Ca found a squirrel out the window for you to see! We left, got to Sam's & I realized we had left Bun Bun at Dr. office. I stayed at Sam's & you, Ca went back & got it! Got RX & items to cook for the Pork chop dinner. Ky feels a little better since we got home. We took her outside & let her play a little. She was taking her sunglasses on & off & blowing us good-bye kisses!!!Too Funny!!

09/04/07

We are the coordinators for a Pork chop dinner for Cayla's senior class. (We have done this for basketball teams that we coached years ago.) It is a great fund raiser, lot's of work, but good proceeds! I organize the event & Winston grills the chops! They are really good! This event is Friday & I am working on notifying parents of how much food to bring. This will consume most of my week! Kylie is still extremely ill with her ear, if not feeling better tomorrow we will go to dr.

Of course, being grandparents, they were in attendance and proud as peacocks!!! How wonderful to know your grandparents! We missed out on this great relationship during our childhood, as our grandparents were deceased! I am so glad our children have been blessed with local grandparents! They have been so blessed by very supportive & loving grandparents!!! Thank-you grands for choosing to spend time with your grand children. We know now, that it was not always an easy job!!!! Pay back!! But it is GRAND!! Love you all!!!
