Income tax time: This past week has been filled with many hours of paper work! Feb. will be full of the same! Farmers Taxes must be completed by the end of this month. I am in charge of getting most of this to the accountant....thank goodness for them! With Winston's & Cole's businesses & a grand baby to keep, while Mom is in class, it makes for a busy week! Not to mention, during the winter the laundry doubles! Winston layers his clothes instead of wearing a bulky coat, easier to work in! Oh well, I made it through the week of W-2's & 1099's, on to the income tax part now!! We are just taxed way toooo much!!! I know everyone feels the same!!! Probably will get worse! o:k...no more complaining!
What fun to be able to just play in the rain!

Yep, Papa bought a bus! Kylie loves it! She asked him where her school was. We told her, no school until she uses the potty! One night he did take her by the North Brooks School, drove right up to the front door! I was not on this bus ride...thank goodness! We sing The Wheels on the Bus, too!
During church today they had a background of a sky, grass and a man...kind of a character look of Jesus...I guess. Anyway, Kylie looked up at it and said....look, it's the real God! She also was looking at her picture Bible book. It had pictures of Jesus on the cross etc. She wanted to know what had happened. She said he had a boo boo! Out of the mouth of babes!
Winston & Shoes: I have to blog about Winston & shoes. When we go married his shoes were to little. He was miserable! I don't know why, but they were. I guess they ordered the wrong size. Well at the funeral Thursday, his shoes were to big. Now, you know he does not wear a suit every Sunday. I quit with that along time ago! He did not get out anything ahead of time, of course! I did get out his suit & tie and check it out! I did not worry about his shoes, but I did get them out & wipe them off, I thought! He put them on & said they felt big. I said, maybe you had on thick socks when you bought them...I mean I had no idea how big they were. When we got out to the church, he said "I hope I can keep these on!" I said...are they that big? Yep! He asked Cole if they were his, he did not think so! Well, when we got home he kept talking about it. I told him to check the size. They were a 13......yep...they are Cole's! I did not even know we still had any of Cole's things at our house! Winston did find his dress shoes...maybe next time I will remember what they look like! I know Grandma would get a kick out of this story! I have a few funny tales from my Dad's funeral. I will blog them one day! I know it is a serious time, but lets face it, you just can not stop funny things from happening! At my funeral , everyone has my permission to laugh, wear your jeans and have a celebration of my life. Oh yes, a grave side(sp) service is fine with me! Nothing very long or anything!
Happy Birthday Emmett! Tomorrow is my Daddy-in-laws birthday! EB, I hope you have the best day ever, you deserve it! I really admire you, as do all of your boys...son's...men! I enjoy hearing Winston talk about you and how hard you worked for all of your family through the years. Working 2 or 3 jobs to make ends meet & provide for your family.Working grave yard & switching with fellow workers to coach them & make it to their games and activities. No one can ever say you did not spend time with your boys! Over the past 26 years I have watched you grow into a compassionate, great man! I am very proud of you and proud to be a part of your family. Thank you for all the sweet and encouraging notes at Christmas!! I Love you, Jill
Kylie got into Momma J's lipstick. She came in the kitchen and told me to look at her lips. Then she said....look my lips are falling out!
Happy Birthday Dalton! Dalton is one of my nephews and he is all boy! He loves to hunt & fish, ride 4-wheelers, motorcycles, etc...much like his cousin Cole. He does not want me to take his picture...also like Cole!!! What I love about Dalton is his hugs, he will just come up quietly and give you a hug and I just swell with joy! You know boys get to an age where they just don't want to hug you....but they also grow out of that!!! Dalton, I hope you had a great birthday. I love you!
A few memories I have of Grandma Wisenbaker.
  • She was such a support & encourager in our marriage and children!
  • She shared her wisdom of scripture with us!
  • She helped Winston and I start his farming career by signing a note with him. She was excited about his farming! One of the last times she was able to come over to the farm, she told me how proud she was of him and his operation. She was amazed at how much the farm had grown. She talked about how smart he was and what a hard worker he was, & still is I will add! She also would tell us that "All work & no play made for a dull boy".
  • She was so proud of our house we were able to build. Her favorite room was my kitchen. I told her that was because it was the only one that had accessories!
  • While visiting with her one day, I remember exactly where she was standing, we were talking about husband's & how they work so hard and can just pick up on Saturday's & go fishing, etc. This was a long time ago, of course! She shared a story about her & Grandpa Gus in their younger years. She said, I would be fussing at him about one thing or another, as we all do at one time or another in our lives, and when he got tired of listening to it, he would just get up, get his fishing pole & tackle box & head out to the pond! She just chuckled as she told me & said it just would make me so mad at him, he would just leave me here fussing, it was such a cute story & I am so glad she shared it with me! Some times we all need a pole & a tackle box!
  • I remember talking about being proud of our children. I told her that I knew my Dad was proud of us, but he never bragged on us that I had ever heard! She said, well you tell him that Grandma said, " Well, any old black bird that doesn't think her feathers are the blackest, ain't much of a black bird". We laughed so hard and I told my Dad what she said & he just chuckled! Then he told me he was proud of his girls, but he just didn't like to tell every one about it.....he was so modest!
  • She would tell me I needed to come to her house more, because I was good for her soul. She was talking about my laughter. We would talk about all kind of stuff & I am sure I would find some type of humor & share it with her, & then she would chuckle!
  • I think Grandma was pretty much a serious type of lady, not full of foolishness you could say, well that is where I came in & filled her soul with laughter. It was my pleasure Grandma, and thank you for treating me as one of your own. I love you and will miss you, your love, your advice and wisdom and the laughter we shared together!
Hugs and Kisses, Jill
Grandma Wisenbaker, we will miss you deeply! But we also rejoice knowing you are not suffering anymore! No more pain and a brand new body....how wonderful! Your girls are to be commended for a job well done as they were diligent in their care for you. I know you are proud of them. I know they will miss you so much. You were always standing by to help each and every one of them! To meet what needs they had, at that time! We love & miss you!
A Simple Meal for a busy day!
