Trimming the Tree

Posted by Picasa
We got our tree up early this year...probably a record. We must give credit to Cayla, she has really been on the ball. She got the tree & the trimmings down. She also stung lights outside in the trees, but we have so many we kept blowing fuses...need an electrician, a whole other story! Kylie had a good time taking the ornaments on & off the tree!!! We have a ornament with a basketball goal, another just basketball ornament. She took the basketball & set it in the basket of the other ornament and said, yea we win! She is so excited. Cayla wrapped some gifts and when Kylie woke up she thought Santa had come...she also opened one that was in a bag....Aunt CaCa took the presents to the attic...she is no fun!
We had a great day with all of our families. We missed all who were not able to attend this year! I did most of my cooking on Wednesday, Martha has been cooking since Monday...she loves to cook and I am very thankful for her!! Buffy and I prepared the meal for our side of the family, we had a great time of laughter with everyone and we ate too much, but it was good!!! Friday some of our bunch went to see a movie, I was to exhausted to go, but I hear they had fun! Sorry I missed it, but Winston & I neither one slept well, to much good food!

Happy Birthday Lynn

Hope you have a great birthday. So glad you are one of my sister's. We have shared many memories together. Some good and some not so good! The greatest thing we share is the ability to laugh together! Over nothing sometimes...maybe most of the time. I will be looking forward to seeing all of you for Thanksgiving! Safe Travels!

Ear Infections

Well, Kylie has got an ear infection in her left ear & fluid behind her right ear. Casey took her to Dr. Allen today. We had tubes put in when she was around a year. About 6 months ago we went for another check-up. The tubes were still in but working their way out, which is what they are supposed to do. From birth to a year old, Kylie had around 12 ear infections. Wonder if we are going to have to do this again? Poor thing, she has ran no fever, no complaining. We began to see some drainage out of the ear. The Dr. had told us that we would see some drainage, so we just thought maybe the tubes were doing their job. Then her ear got a rash on it....so we decided to make an appointment. She let the Dr. know it was raining outside when he came in to see her! When she came home she told us the Dr. told her to stick out her tongue & say ahh. When we put tubes in her ears last time it was just terrible. She screamed for an hour or so afterwards. He had told us that she would do this, most do!!!
Ya like my pockets?

A nice Friday

Today my Mom came over & I worked on some curtains for her. We enjoyed our visit with her very much! Kylie cried because she did not want Mana to go home. Later in the day Winston & I headed to the golf course to practice a few strokes. We had fun, it was just nice to spend time with him alone! Then out for a bite to eat. It was a fun night shared with each other. Thanks for taking me honey!!

Play Date

We went to get some ribbon to make hair bows with & to play with the cousins! Had a great time!

Just wanted to wish Ally, my niece, a very Happy Birthday today. She is 7 years old. We are looking forward to the party on Saturday! I love you!

Santa Picture & Christmas dress

I received and email Sunday, I think, about Santa pictures at Phillip Walker Photography for Wed. of this week. It was short notice due to Santa having another commitment in the area. Any way, I had fabric ready to make Kylie a Christmas dress, just not in 2 days!!! I started it Monday night. Kylie helped me with it on Tuesday until my patience wore out! I did try & let her help, but she is just 2 1/2. She did give her opinion on the dress. She wanted me to put it on the table, then she got some more fabric & started redesigning the dress. She stepped back & told me it needed something else...then she patted it & said.... it needs a pocket!!!! Oh my, what a trip! I worked on the dress until 12:00 last night. I had so much trouble with it!! I wanted to add some embellishments to it, so I had to adjust the pattern....I do not think I will try that again! I took it apart several time's, made 1 button hole 3 times....I know why I do not sew any more....I do not have the patience to do it!!!! This morning I finally whipped it and made a hair bow! We arrived for our picture with Kylie looking like a doll in her dress. Kylie spotted Santa through the open door right off the bat! We went back & she walked over slowly, climbed in his lap and smiled at the camera!! She wanted to look at Santa instead of the camera, but we got several pict. to choose from at the end of the shoot! It was just priceless watching her with Santa! She gave him a kiss before we left. Then as we were picking out our pictures she was playing with some of the toys and watching Santa. Cayla saw her lying on the floor, on her belly, with her chin resting on her hands just staring though the door at Santa! She wants a doll & stroller. Let me just say, this Santa is the best I have ever seen!!

The Barm

One of Kylie's favorite things to do is to go to the barm (barn) to see her Papa & play! We went down today & she had a blast. She ate a pb&j, played golf, played with Uncle Cole, Mr. Bill & Papa. She even had Papa, Bill & myself playing hide-n-seek! It was funny. She told Papa to go hide, she then started to count & peek as he was hiding!!! She played with her buckets & shovels in the sand...and put dirt on Bill's shoe! Sorry Bill!

Working Man & His Wife

Our Baby Girl nearly grown!!!!

I got a picture of Cayla this afternoon with her new hair cut and all dressed up. Our little girl is all grown up!

Blessed

We are so thankful! Our produce seemed to survive the cold weather, this week! Thank you Lord for answered prayers!!! We are totally under his mercy with our crops, they are in his hands. I have often thought, what faith a farmer must have to invest his time and money into a crop. Let's face it....you take a seed, plant it, water it...that is if you have irrigation...if not, you get on your knees & beg for rain...or for no rain, or sunshine, or for it not to get to cold...oh my, a whole lot of praying going on around here!! But, we know he will take care of us, no one at our house has starved as of yet...I need to wire my mouth shut!!! Some times I would tell WB, you may as well go out there and plant dollar bills instead of seeds, it felt like we were just throwing money away. My husband, as well as many farmers, is not a quitter. He would just say, that next year would be better, and sometimes it would be! He is a very hard worker and with God's help, we have been very blessed.
