My memories written...in a not so proper way...so I can remember what in the world happened during my crazy, fun, blessed life!
Yes, amongst all this excitement our Dad had a birthday!!!
His boys got him a rod-n-reel! He loves to fish!!!
Happy fishing EB!!! We love ya!!!
Day One
I took Cayden to meet Bentley and see Mom and Dad! He really did not know what to think. Brought back lots of memories when I had my first two!
He kept looking at me like…what have they done??? After a while he warmed up a little. He did not like his Mom in that strange bed!
That night he went to bed at 11:45! Oh boy am I tired and ready to sleep, not a wink since Monday night!
Day Two
Just a few things we did while Mom and Dad are at SGMC with Bentley.
Rode the tractor, played in Papa’s tools, swept the floor, etc!
Ryan came out a shot his pistol for a bit and then took Cayden to see his Mom. I went and picked him up later on!
Warming up more today! Mom was up and out of the bed and I think that made him feel better!!!
Day Three
Warmed up for sure!!! Cayden calls Bentley-----Bent!!!
It is now Wednesday, January 25th! We are still in labor and delivery of course. I guess it was around 11:30 when she got the epidural. At 12:07 she has progressed to 6.5. We decided it may be awhile, Cayla told Casey to come back and visit for a bit. They put her on her side, Bentley’s heart rate is a little off, but that is normal as he is making his arrival!
Getting ready!!!
Well, we are visiting and talking etc. Marie Daisy has arrived to deliver Bentley. We are just kind of calm and still thinking it is going to be earlier in the morning. Then, all of a sudden they are telling me I might want to get my camera ready. Casey handed it to me, then I gave it back to her….I mean really, you know it is going to take at least 30 minutes to an hour of pushing, right??? Not!!!! Cayla said, “no Mom, she is serious….get the camera…he is fixing to be here!!! As she giggled! Then, I took a few notes and said, Oh my word….he really is, Casey get the camera! LOL!!!
I guess I was still waiting on the water to break….which is a whole different story! I will just say this------if anything abnormal can happen------someone in this family will be involved!!! Now, that is out of the way…..
Three pushes later and welcome Bentley at 1:56 AM!!! Oh my, how precious he is and how blessed she was with such an easy, safe delivery this time!!! Ryan got to cut the cord this time, way to go Daddy!!!
Bentley spent about an hour with Mom and Dad and then on to the nursery! And this is where I go, with camera in tow to record the events at the nursery for Mom and Dad!
Casey was so such a good helper, she went an got Ryan some supper earlier in the night and then stayed until it was time to go and get Kylie ready for school. Bart was kind enough to stay with the girls so Casey could come be with her sister!
They got settled in a room and then Cayla decided she was hungry.
We were hungry also, she wanted a chocolate chip waffle so Casey, Ryan and I went to Waffle House….let the laughing begin!!! Yep, we had been up all night and the silly’s had set in, at least with me!!
I am sure they thought we were on something, but..we were not, just sheer excitement!!! We placed our order, then someone called WB to ask him a question and handed me the phone, bahaha!!! I asked if he was asleep and did you sleep any? No, he said the phone rang and I got text all night…lol!!! Well, we just wanted to keep you informed of the up dates!!! He told me he would be at the hospital in a little while to meet Bentley!
We are sitting waiting on our food and the waitress asked if we had a lighter. No, we don’t smoke, but I have the one in the car…lol! The pilot light had gone out on the grill! They gave Ryan a plastic straw and he went to the car to try and light it!
Oh the smell of burning plastic! It did not work, so I wrapped up some napkins to light. About that time she hit on the grill and it came back on! Hmmm, don’t ya think that is a little dangerous. I could just see the headlines in the Valdosta Daily Times! Oh boy!!!
And oh yes, the girls name tag had “Um I don’t know” for her name!!! We finally got Cayla her waffle and she said she was about the starve, sorry Cayla!!! LOL!!!
Now, it is about 5:30 AM and it is beginning to hit all of us! But, I have to go and get Cayden and take him to my house…thanks to Great-Grandma for helping with Cayden!!! WE appreciate it so very much!!!
Feeling so BLESSED!!!
Today was a crazy, busy day! It started out with a one year doctor visit for Cayden. His appointment was at 11:45, we left the office at 1:00. We had enough time to go and get a bite to eat, make a stop at Walmart for a little while and head to Cayla’s doctor appointment at 2:45. Cayden and I opted to sit in the car and watch Nemo and play!
Cayla has been so uncomfortable for a few days now and is having some back labor. I actually brought my make-up and such, just in case she goes today. I have my camera for sure and also a pair of walking shoes if she wants to walk after swim….yes we are still in survival class…but tonight is our last night! In March we will go back for a refresher.
Her appointment went well, he told her to come back next week….but he did not think she would make it until then! I have predicted this baby would come early in the am all along!
Cayla forgot to bring his clothes for swim, so she went to get them while Cayden and I wait for her. He decided to take a nap.
At survival class, Cayden and Isabella are in full clothing, learning how to stay a float if they fall into water! Great job kiddo’s! Kylie is wanting to come home with Ma J! I know that Cayla is wanting to go and walk, so I told Kylie she would have to wait this time, boo hoo! Cayla is having more back pain and looks like it may be moving to the front while waiting at swim.
She did not say to much, but we could see it on her face. We decided to go walk and grab a bite to eat. Really we just fed Cayden! We got an Icee and pretzel bites. We kept walking and the pains kept coming, could it be for real???
At 6:58, I decided we just might need to time these contractions, they seem to be pretty regular to me. I got out my phone and some paper and pen. Walk and potty, walk and potty…lol! She has been in touch with Ryan and has the info to call him at work if things keep progressing. She is determined to be sure this is the real deal before going to the hospital!
The contractions started out at 8 to six minutes apart. About and hour and a half later they were at more six and seem to be lasting longer. Then, we got out her phone and started timing the length of them. At first they were around 30 to 35 seconds. Then moved to 55 to 60 seconds. We called Casey and Bart to try and remember how long they needed to last! I never really went into labor with any of mine, just back labor!
At around 8:30, we decided to go and get baths. First we thought we would leave her car at Steak n Shake and run to my house. On the drive from the mall there, I looked at my paper and it hit me like a freight train. The last few contractions were a steady 5 minutes apart and lasting 58 to 60 seconds. Plus, we still had to take Cayden to Great-Grandma. Fifteen minutes to my house, that would be thirty minutes round trip….I don’t think so!!!
When Cayla pulled up at Steak n Shake, I looked at her at said, “You need to call the hospital before we decide to go to Morven.” I don’t think it wise, your contractions are 5 minutes apart and 60 seconds long! She called and they said to come on up!
Cayla could not get Great-Grandma on the phone at first, she was at a ballgame, of course…lol! But, I got her and told her she needed to go to her house and she asked me why??? LOL!!! Cayla called Ryan and she headed to G-ma’s. I had to make a stop at Walmart first! LOL!!!
We got to G-ma’s and she got a quick bath before Ryan got there and they headed on up to the hospital. I got a quick bath and tamed my frizzy hair (tiny bubbles-has a heated enclosed pool-need I say more)! Off to the hospital I go!
When she got there, around 10:00, they did not waste any time, straight up to labor and delivery they went! Ryan sent a text she was at 5.5 centimeters. They also told her she may not get an epidural, now I feel really bad….I should have made her go earlier…but she was determined not to be sent home…..well, she is not going home for sure! They are really rushing around getting things ready….I mean they are getting it!
They pumped 2 bags of fluids through her quickly and put a rush on the blood work, great nurses this night!!! They gave her some demaral (sp) to ease the pain, the contractions are off the chart on the monitor! When she got to six she slowed down a bit, thank goodness…..bring on the epidural!
Finally! No it is not professionally poured, but it has sure kept lots of dirt out of the house and hopefully the car!
When we built we had a carport, but no door----bad idea! The leaves, dirt and everything blew underneath it! We decided to enclose it, someone wanted a pool table---check! Years later we still did not have any cement to help keep out all of the dirt. Lots of cement has been poured on the farm---for barns you know! And yes, I know that it is useful and needed!
I asked nicely for years, hey---please pour me a parking pad when you pour that------nothing!
WEll, lets just say that I put my foot down! Before any more cement is poured any where---there better be some poured at my house! No, I was not nice about it and I am not very proud of that. I have asked forgiveness and hopefully am forgiven!
I sure am enjoying it and it has really cut down on the dirt being brought in the house, no one takes their shoes off any way!!! Not that I want them to, but I sure do like my new parking pad!!! LOL!
It is hard to believe that my y0ungest nephew turned 16!!! Happy Birthday Dalt!!!
And I love this picture….he does not like his picture taken like most guys at this age! Cole was the worst!!! Love ya Dalton!!!
We now have three birthdays in the same week!!! Dalton, Bentley and Emmett!
My husband, he is a mess and I love him for it! He has done this several times with Kylie and it just cracks me up!
They go out in the field down by the barn and hunt for treasure. I really think he wants to be a pirate…lol! When she is not looking he will throw some coins down and cover it up with his foot. Then he tells her he thinks he feels some treasure over here!
She will come running and start digging and what do ya know….buried treasure!!!
Here they are hunting treasure!!!
I took this with my cell phone, but you get the picture!!!
He feels treasure! Isabella feels like running!!!
