Well, I just had to tell about today. Our Cayla signed up to donate blood after church today! I was a little shocked & proud!!! I have never given my blood freely! Her Dad has, many times! Any way, we drove 4 vehicle's to church today, including Casey! Cayla had ball practice, I needed to go to the grocery, Winston golfing & Casey had her own errands! After church Cayla headed to the vampire room, her Dad helped her get situated. Then he asked if I wanted to go & eat. Casey was staying with Cayla. The more I thought about myself & how I react to the vampire's, I decided I needed to stay with Cayla also! I went to wait with her. They finally get her signed up, you even have to take your own line & bag from the question station to your chair!!! Yuck! They got her hooked up & going, she did fine. We were over talking about those of us who faint & all, Casey & I start feeling sick just talking about it!!Whimps!! Casey said we needed to stop talking because she felt sick just sitting in there, so did I. I told her we should get some tea, they feed the families that give, we were family!!!Hee! Then we look over & she is leaned back in the chair, Earl is talking to her, we go over to check on her, yep....she is her Mother's child!!! She was fine until they removed the needle! Then she got weak! She got up , we told her to eat, she got chips, tea. She sat down, ate a chip felt sick. We go to the ladies room, had a couch, lay down & put feet up! We got some fluids in her & after about 30 min. she felt some better! Now, we did not know she needed to drink lots of fluids before giving! Lesson learned! She said, "I want my blood back!" She also got a sticker that said first time blood doner....Casey said, "& the last!" Yep, won't do that again! She did not feel like driving, so we took Casey's car to the mall, back to church, pick up my car! They went to mall to get pants & then to ball practice, but she did not practice! So if you want to give blood, have a driver, drink lots of fluids, eat before, plan to rest afterwards!
Cayla, we are very proud of you for wanting to help others!! I would like to try, but maybe when no one else is around!!!
Tonight Cayla played her last 1st HS BB Game. It brought tears to my eyes! They did not win, but looked like they were having a great time. They scored over 40 points. Cayla had 2 fouls in the 1st quarter...so guess where she sat!!! She is playing a post on defense! She is running the point on offense. I will add a few pictures! It was a fun night! Cayla & Samantha Sloan are Captains of the team.
Today Cayla was out of school for a teacher work day. She did have ball practice, but we did get to enjoy spending some time together. We had talked about taking some pictures when the cotton got ready to pick & decided today would be a good day. Earlier in the day, I was making my bed, looked at Kylie. She was at my desk, sitting in my chair with my glasses on & using the mouse at the computer!!! Why I make my bed I do not know. Kylie loves to get on our bed & move the pillows back & forth!!! She will work up a sweat moving pillows!!! After her nap we got her & Cayla dressed & headed to the cotton field. Got some cute pictures! When we got home, one of the fields was getting picked!
Well, today Kylie got in to quite a few things. The china cabinet....again!!! The table arrangement of fall hard squash, that's not so bad!!! Then she some how got my digital camera....dropped it twice before I could get to her!!! Then she walked around with this tissue box on her head!!! What a day!!!
Well, we started Nov. off with a bang! Casey had to be at the doctor at nine for and endo.They stretched her esophagus again! Grandma Bridges had a hair appt. at 11:30. She met us at the office, got Kylie, gave her some breakfast and then took her to the park. Kylie had a great time. We were out by 11:00! This was great, I did not want Martha to miss her hair appt., it is hard to get in these day's and find the time to go!! But, it all worked out. We left there, gassed up the car and went to pick up Cayla's dress! We got home around 2:00. Kylie took a nap & then we had to the school for Meet the Generals night. They introduce each player on each ball team. They also had a little scrimmage. Hard to believe Cayla is a senior, time has gown by way to fast!!
