Weekend of golf

Winston, Cole & some golfing buddies went to Destin to play a little golf. The first course they played on was really hard...but he played well. They had a fun time & I only had one request...that he go by & pick up a pan for me at the Williams-Sonoma store! Hee! He did & thank-you so much honey!!

Accidents do happen!

While eating out Saturday night, as someone was reaching over someone else for a napkin....a coat sleeve caught a straw in a tea glass...and well...look who's pants got wet!!! It was cold & funny! Thank goodness it was rather late & we were practically the only ones there!! I was a little sticky by the time we got home! Ha!

Winterball Benefit for Jack Ryan Lee

Today we went to support the Lee family at the Winterball Benefit. We did not get there very early, they said it was cold! We got there mid-day. It was just a beautiful, special day. I was sooo blessed by going, and I thought I was going to support them! They had a beautiful display of a scrapbook made my Amanda & a frame with the most beautiful pictures! As I looked at all of these cherished memories I felt like I got to know that precious baby Jack...just a wee bit!!! Just to see Ryan & Amanda supported by their family & friends was awesome. I know they are so proud of Jack, but miss him more than I can ever imagine. It was a sweet & sad day for them I am sure! I love you guys and thanks for inviting others to share in your families life...we were blessed just being with you!!! Hugs & Kisses!! (I will post pictures later, if you would like!)

Happy Birthday Macie!

Today is my niece's birthday! Macie, I love you and hope you have the greatest day!

What do you get when you mix a rhino with a hippo?

Kylie has gotten a little confused when it come to a rhinoceros and a hippopotamus. When Madagascar comes on she talks about the homo or sometimes she says whomo. It is so funny! I am so proud of her..she is still using the potty!!!!

Knoxville Tennessee

Well, the girls did not have class tonight and we got a wild hair & drove to Knoxville to see the Lady Vols play Duke. We left at 11:30 after Martha arrived! Most of us had on no make-up, just grabbed an overnight bag & took off!!! We stopped im Tifton at Chick-fil-A, but it was so busy..we just got back on the interstate & drove on to Perry...went through the drive, used the restroom & ate on the road. I had to keep the pedal to the metal if we were going to make it in time!!! We got in a little traffic on the way in to Atlanta due to construction, but after that it was clear sailing! We got through the Chattanooga area & stopped between there & Knoxville for gas & restroom again. Kylie had slept quite a bit & after she woke up looked flushed in the cheeks. She had a fever! The stress level just went up another octave (sp)! The GPS said we should arrive around 6:10. We also started looking at hospitals. We arrived around the estimated time...but, we knew Kylie had to get checked out...her fever was 102 in the car. Martha & Casey decided they would take her to a nearby Children's hospital...I did try to get Martha to go to the game & let me go with Casey...she insisted....as bad as I wanted to go with Cayla to the game...it did not take much arm twisting. Not that Martha would be stubborn or anything! Cayla was so excited to be in that gym, it was nice to see her face as she observed the festivities! Thanks Grandma! As excited as we were it was hard to enjoy ourselves knowing that all of us were not there. I was very disappointed that the rest of our crew were stuck in an ER. We kept calling & checking on them. The game ended, we just sat & watched as all of those people left. We also bought Kylie a shirt! We told them not to worry about us that we could take a cab to the hospital..it was about a mile from the arena! Then they had a post game show...& they were wrapping up at the ER...a ear infection in the ear that the tube has come out of..the other tube is still in the other ear & working...so we just hung around for a while at the gym. They called & said they were close to the arena, Cayla & I headed out...then we waited under a light for a good 20 minutes....it was cold.....the traffic was all one way and they had a hard time getting to us. It was so funny! A local sheriff & a police officer...traffic directors, were talking to us. I told them our ride had been through earlier & they were trying to find their way back around...I told them we were from S. GA etc. He asked where we lived etc....got around to the farming, one of the guys said...I saw her come by she was on her phone....I said...yes talking to us! It was funny! We headed back toward Chattanooga , stopped & ate at Chili's...I stayed in the car with Kylie...she was sleeping! We stopped around 1:30 am. Kylie was tired & wanted a bed. When we got her in the bed she asked me... where I went...she said she missed me! Made me feel like a dog!!! Then she asked if CaCa played. She still thinks CaCa should play ball!!! We slept in late. I went & got Kylie's medicine filled while the rest of the bunch got ready. We ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel. Kylie loved it. She was hungry since she did not eat much the day before. She also loved the shopping! She went around that place about 5 times! We did buy her a white sweater & Casey & I got to Tenn. shirts! We also stopped at the Tanger Outlet Mall for a little while. We got home around dark. The doctor at the ER was great they said! He asked her..Kylie lots of questions. When he left the room, Kylie got in his chair & pretended to doctor her Mom, just as he did her! They also watched Madagascar 2 on the way...it has some real funny part to us! Hey girl you HUGE...I like um big, I like um lumpy....my names so nice you have to say it twice....is that your friend or your butt....and more! I will load a smilebox of the pictures! Thanks Winston for letting us get wild hairs!!!

Potty Training!!!

Kylie woke up Monday & announced she needed to potty. I said...great & got out the big girl panties! She did not poop in the potty all week. She told me she did not want her poo poo to go down that hole! Ha! I told her that is where it is supposed to go....she would not go! When she came back today, she had gone at the Spencer's twice!!! Yes!! They dropped her off at the golf course & within 15 minutes she needed to go. She told me & we hurried to the restroom. I put her on the potty, she told me to go potty that I did not need to watch her! I waited outside of her door, for a long time!!! She kept announcing...I not through yet.....10 seconds later... I still not though yet.... that was not nothing...that was a frog! We were in there so long that Papa came to check on us!! I told him we were having a poop marathon with minute to minute updates! She would get off the toilet, open the door...tell me...I not frew yet...close the door...& lock it! It was funny! She is almost 3 & it is time!!! We were beginning to think she would go to school wearing a pull up! Now, for the paci!!!

Thanks Casey & Kylie

Thank you so much for my Dove chocolates for Valentines Day. Daddy & Cayla liked them too!!! I love and appreciate you both!

Valentines Day

Well, Winston gave all of his sweethearts their gifts on Friday. This was good because Kylie was at her Spencer family for the weekend. All of the girls received roses and candy. Kylie also got another treat...stuffed animals of course. She was so excited, she thought it was her birthday. She said she just loved chocolate, until she tried hers. Then, when she tasted hers, she said it was disgusting! Next she moved on to some of mine...it was better. She had one of those small hearts, and a pink rose which she did not want to put in the water! I have to tell you that all of this came from the Dollar General, no less! Yes, they had live roses...quite pretty. Now Winston did make one mistake..each of the heart boxes said....for my man! He was shopping so quickly...hmmmm, that he just picked them up & brought them home! He did not turn them over until he sat them on the counter! HaHa! It was so funny!! I will take a picture of mine later & post it! I told him he might should slow down a bit & take s little more time....can you imagine what the lady who checked him out thought!!! I bought him some chocolate covered raisins, a pencil holder for his desk and a golf shirt! Thanks Winston, never a dull holiday!!!
What a busy morning. Winston and I got up today and headed out to town. He needed some supplies for his barn office. I told him I would go with him, but I wanted to go to the outlet mall and buy me a new club...a putter & a flop wedge! He agreed! I did not feel well until last night late. I was very tired & my stomach did not feel well. In spite of not feeling well, we did get most of what he needed!
A Fun Day spent with my hubby: This afternoon I spent the day with my best friend, playing golf! We enjoyed and needed time just to ourselves! We had so much fun. Winston is a pretty good golfer, I am not....but am improving! I did make a par yesterday!!! I guess the comedy golf tour must be helping!
Man Cave Update II: Kylie did not understand what had happened in the barn. She knew it did not look like it used to! She asked, where did this come from Papa? What is this Papa? She loved the door!! I think she feels like she has a new play house! How do you like the pencil holder? By all means a man cave!
A Great Sunday Dinner : A big thank-you to Martha for another delicious meal! Also thanks for keeping Kylie for Casey today!!! We enjoyed it!!!
Kylie is still not feeling well!
Girls Night Out: Mom, Buffy, Cayla and I went out to eat and to a movie. We ate at Chili's... ribs, salads, potato's, nachos and chocolate pie...with 4 spoons!!! Then went to watch a chick flick! We had a great time, lots of fun and some good cake! We just needed to find the car!
Went to Thomasville this a.m. for labs, again!! I have hypothyroid. Found out last summer. My labs in July showed my level @ 4.41. In November it was back up to 8.24.....and I have been taking my medicine! They raised my med. so I went back today to have more labs. I sure hope it has come down this time. I have been told that their is no way to loose weight with it over 3!!!! Your metabolism is just way to slow.....!!!! If they can not get this under control, I will go back to an endocrinologist!!
Kylie had the bug (stew up, as she called it) around 8 times...plus 2 at SGMC, got meds...better now! She gave it to Bart...now I think Winston might have it. Oh dear!

On Lawson Pond....Morven GA
Many years ago, when we were first married, we fished a lot. I did not know much about fishing. Our Dad did not take us, who could blame him....5 women! I do remember going 1 or 2 times! I had never used an open faced reel. Well, my hubby was set on me learning! He got all of his open faced reels out, 5 or so, put them in the boat & off we went! When casting with this type of reel, you cast it...then right before it hits something...tree, water, the person beside you, the other side of the boat...get the picture....I did them all, you put your thumb on the line thats on the reel & stop it. The worm falls to the bottom of the pond & you just sit & wait for this bump, bump...which is a fish..to pick it up..then you set the hook & you got a big ole bass...if your lucky on your hook! Well, if you don't stop it you will get what they call a birds nest...when the line is just tangled all up sitting right their on that reel, looking like a birds nest. Some of the time you can get it out, but if it is a really big one..then you have to cut the line off the reel & hope you have enough left to catch a big ole bass! Well, I know that as I was learning this new skill, I had a bird's nest in every one of his reels! I would cast, hit something, usually not the water...Ha...hand it to him & he would give me another one! I must be honest...at times I was glad all those reels had a knot in them! I needed a break! I got them in the trees over head, hit him with them, hit the water behind me, oh my, did we do some laughing!! He was so patient, and amused I suppose...because we did a whole lot of fishing..and he would just laugh at me! He did teach me how to get those bird nest out though! This is one of the ponds I learned to fish in! Since then this dam has been built. As I passed by it yesterday, I decided to stop & snap a few pictures. It is so pretty to me. When Winston saw the pictures he reminded me about our adventures. I must mention Greg Brown because he probably go hit in the head a couple of times as he was with us many times!!! Oh what fond memories...Winston your the best! Posted by Picasa
A few months ago Grandma Bridges bought Kylie some Snowman PJ's. Thanks Grandma! Wish it would snow!!
Doctor's Visit: Winston finally decided to go to the Dr. with his shoulder. It has been bothering him for a few months. I think this is his 2nd visit to the Dr. in 26 years! They took an x-ray..nothing broke, the Dr. did not think that it was, but we wanted to rule that out! He told him he could try a cortisone shot & it may help. It also could be a tear in the rotator cuff, that will take a MRI. We are going to give this shot a chance. Then may try come exercises....then move on to the next step if this does not work! Winston told him he wanted to try the shot. When he got out the needle...Winston said, that's a big needle!!! Are you gonna numb it? Yep, I was laughing!!! Then he said, that's a lot of medicine in their!!! He gave him the shot & it must of hurt just a bit...the medicine, not the needle! Take it like a man, baby!!!! The funniest thing was him telling them what he thought was wrong with him! He may be right! I told them to meet Dr. Bridges!
Posted by Picasa I wanted to take a picture of one of my flowers before this cold came. Every year about the time it blooms...the cold gets it!
Winston decided back in the summer that he needed to enclose a section of his barn for a man cave...thats what I call it! He cooks in his barn quite often & spends many hours doing paper work! He has a t.v., frig, sink, microwave....see, a man cave! Is is so hot in the summer & cold at times in the fall & winter! The cooking area was to far from the sink & frig. He had a huge table that took up to much room. So, he needed to improve the man cave, I agreed! Here are a few pictures of the progress!
