Birthday Shopping

Today Kylie, Heather, Martha and myself went to shop for birthday presents for Kylie. Her b-day is on Tuesday the 4th. We will celebrate it Sunday. First, Kylie, Heather and I went to Michaels. Then to Toys-r-us. Kylie had a blast. We bought a few toys, we are getting mostly clothes! When we drove in to town, Kylie said, eat mama eat! I hungie! Off to Chick-fil-a! On to Great-Gma's. Now to the outlet mall. Our first stop was Gap outlet. Well, we had to get Kyie out to try on some pants. She began to shop through the racks & talk just like us. But, she had not done her daily business. While out she loaded her diaper. She usually does not like u to change her unless she is finished. Well, she was stinking up the store, and every time I would go near her she would point her finger & say no mam, get way from me! She did this to all of us. Of course we were laughing hysterically! I finally picked her up, like a sack of tators & placed her on my side. She began kicking & screaming! I was rolling I was laughing so hard! Great G-ma finally quit laughing long enough to pick her up...kicking & screaming...take her and we changed her. She was not happy about it, but was OK after wards. I almost forgot to tell about Grandma Bridges & the merry-go-round. Well, she took Kylie on out of the store while we paid for our items. When we came out, we looked down the way. We saw G-ma holding Kylie on the horse. We walked over & G-ma said she needed some quarters!!! The ride was 75 cents!!! My how prices have increased. Now, one lade had already given her a quarter, the ride still did not work!! I came up with another quarter & the ride began! Then Kylie was scared, well I just climbed up on one of the other horses and rode with her!!! Just visualize that!!! Oh well, those Grand's will make u do lots of things u would not normally do! Kylie took a nap and was better after! Next time I think I will get a sitter!!! Cayla is still pretty sick!

Cayla has come down with the flu. Between her & Kylie I am very busy.!!! I hope she feels better soon. We ended up going to the doctor since her fever was up. Winston kept Kylie for me, can't wait to hear how that went! We got $92.00 worth of medicine and a $85.00 visit! Hope this works!!! Kylie was excited to stay at the barn with Papa and Bill Washknot. Bill is great with kids!! She blew us kisses and waved good-bye! She had a great time!

Doctors Appointment

We went to the dr. for Cayla's knee today. Cayla can have surgery when ever we are ready. Her knee is pretty unstable. You can look at her right leg and see all the definitions of her muscle's! You look at the left and there is a big difference! Just is 4 weeks time! Her class at school are going to Orlando for there Senior Trip the week of March 17th. Her DR told her she could go, but would have to be extremely careful. Just think about trying to get on a ride, you have to twist your knees to get in some of them & to get out. He said she could damage her meniscus! I believe she has decided not to go. It would not be fun to stand & watch at Disney World. I told her I would take her some where this summer! We may try to do it the week of the trip. We have no insurance so we are looking at a couple of different things!

Kylie helps cook breakfast for CaCa

Cayla is out of school for Presidents day & Kylie is so glad. She loves it when CaCa is home during the day. I heard Kylie playing in the pots & pans, I went in and asked if she was cooking. Then I turned & walked to do something else. Well, she came & got me and said,"cook cook! We decided to cook some eggs, toast and grits. CaCa helped Kylie crack open the eggs. She enjoyed her cooking excursion we took today! She also enjoyed the food!

Senior Night 2008

Tonight our Senior's put on their uniform's & played on their home court for the last time as Seniors of these teams. All Seniors usually start. We had no idea that our Cayla would have a chance to take part in this special event, but with the help of her Coaches, the officials, her doctor, and the opposing team, a truly special, tearful night of fond memories were made. First, Cayla's teammate's lined up to run out with her at the lead. They had a banner to run through, but she could not run so she used her fists to push through the sign. After breaking through they all walked out behind Cayla and made their entrance, there was not a dry eye in the gym. After she escorted them to their goal, she went to the bench. The coaches decided to start her, they told the official's, other coach & team. We want to start our injured Senior, but she can not have anyone make contact with her & she can not run. We want to go up at the tip, hit the ball out of bounds & get her off the floor! I will have my sub ready & the opposing team can have possession of the ball. That is exactly what happened. She was able to start her last home game! I believe it helped her spirits just to wear that uniform one more time! As she left the floor the fans stood & cheered for her, what an awesome show of love & support. Her Daddy had to leave the gym with tears in his eye's when he saw her lead her team out for the last time. Then, when he saw them start her, he left & went to the restroom once again! I had to stay & video and take pictures as I cried! As you can see from the pictures it was an emotional night. Once she left the floor for the last time, her emotions got to her. She regained her composure quickly, and cheered her teammates on. After their game, each senior is introduced along with their parents. They also read a few words written by each senior as they meet their parents at center court. I guess it is a farewell ceremony! Casey and a friend, Christina made a sign for Cayla's last game & held it up for her. Cole, Heather & her friend came to the game, along with Uncle Glenn, Aunt Buffy & Katie, Nana, Grandma & Granddaddy, Jenny Lynn and of course Austin!!! We thank each & every one of you for your love & support of our children!

We went back to see Cayla's doctor today. He said she has a torn MCL as well as an ACL.That is why she is still having the pain on the interior of the knee. The pain is the worse in the morning's. I guess the knee has been so still during the night it has to get warmed up. He wants her to continue to exercise the knee. Before he will do any surgery she must have no swelling and full range of motion back in that knee. She can now walk on the knee, but must wear the immobilizer when out around people. The knee must stay protected! She actually asked him if she could dribble the ball down the court for her last home game of her career! And maybe even shoot it. Or she could just go down & stand & take a shot! I could not believe she asked him. He told her that if both teams agreed not to touch her that she could. Then he said, you will need to wear your brace and I do not think they will allow you to do that! Poor thing!!

February 1 2008

We got up today and began to get Cayla ready for school. This is not an easy task when you can not stand on one of your legs. And if you move the wrong way you are in pain! Walking on crutches is not an easy task itself! I also had to get Kylie ready to go with us! We are just not in a very good way, we are depressed about this whole situation we are in. We know that life will go on and that this is a bump in the road, but that does not ease our hurting hearts. We have had something snatched away from us that we have enjoyed for years & years. Yes, the end was close, but to go out injured with no chance to play soccer is just so depressing! Oh well, we loaded up and headed on our way. We went by Chick-fil-A to get them a biscuit. The drive was wrapped around the building so I went in....wrong choice. I waited in line behind 1 lady. The cashier left, got this ladies order, gave it to her. Walked past me like I was not there. I am the only one standing at the counter. I moved to the next register....2 other cashiers gave orders to people who were waiting on their order. I moved down to another register. AS I did this, the first cashier I was at asked a lady who just walked in the door if she could help her.....well, that was fine, the young bitty....then the cashier at the cashier next to me asked a lady who had just walked up, if she could help her!!!!!Well, I will just tell you, they got me on the wrong day... I told her that she could help me! That I was their before either of the 2 ladies they had asked if they could help. I said, I must be invisible, I have been standing here for 10 minutes & none of you asked if I needed anything!!!But you let people walk in the door & you wait on them. She apologized & I told her what I wanted. I told her I was not trying to be ugly, but that I would like to be served, & not treated like I was invisible. I really started to pinch myself to see if I was dreaming or something! Finally, we got to school. Then Ky & I went to the cleaners, then to Walmart to the get groceries. We play Fullington tonight. They beat us at their gym, we did not play well that night. One of their players came over to our girls tonight and asked, Where is you #31 at tonight? Carly told her she was probably sleeping, she is taking Lortab's because she tore her ACL. The girl said, man that is bad! Well, it is bad for ya'll, but good for us. Yes, that is true, in most things there is bad and good. The good in this situation is that these girls have got to learn not to depend on one person to do everything. They have played 2 games without Cayla and we have seen a couple of players begin to take on some new responsibilities. Tonight more girls hustled and helped tote the load. They played well, buckled down and shared the load. We were proud of them.( I saw girls hustling & moving their feet on defense that I have not seen but a couple of games this year.) Now, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done, to sit & watch as my child was injured. Just to have to see her watch & not be able to help her team mates. I was so proud of them all, but I was so hurt for my own. We left after their game, It just makes you sick, but you want to support the other girls so you just suck it up & go!! I just really appreciate all who have been compassionate for Cayla and us during this difficult time! Took a few pictures so we can remember this years from now. I think Cayla's face says it all!
