Well, I am not to happy about it…but I broke a switch today and used it on a little one that I love so much. She is so strong-willed and can dig her heels in like a stubborn ole mule. Some times you just have to break those wills!!! Believe me, it was a have to situation. She also ran from me, I followed her around for a little bit as she giggled the whole time. I was not extremely angry and it was a little funny, but I knew I had to remember the scripture and not spoil the child…too late!!! She finally came to me and I witched her a little and she did not appreciate it at all, you a mean, mean woman!!! After a few minutes of her wanting her Mom, I called her to the back porch and gathered her up in my arms. Told her that I loved her so much and that she could not disobey me or any other adult when she is told to do something. God does not like it. He said that we as parents are to love you enough to spank you. I told her how when Cole, her Mom and Cayla were little, they also got switching's and so did I when I was young. She told me she love me too and that she was sorry. Then she wanted to know where was God??? I told her he is every where, and she begins looking around asking…is he over there, up there? Oh boy, explaining that one has always been a tough one!
Later, Cole comes in and she tells him I gave her a witchin with thorns!!! NOT!!! But how well I know that it does feel that way sometimes. He asked her what she did, and she told him she ran from me….which was not why she got witched! He told her…well, she used to spank me with a spoon!!! Yep, when they got older & would come through the kitchen screaming, fighting, wrestling… I did just pick up a plastic ladle & start swinging & saying….get out of here with all that mess…take it out side…I am trying to cook!!! They would just laugh & run out! I finally broke that ladle on his bottom when he was about 14 or so, as he was running up the stairs!
When Casey got here last night, she told her she did not want to talk about it. I usually do not let Ky spend the night on Tues., because of payroll on Wed. Guess who stayed last night…she said, I promise I will be good, poor thing!
This morning Kylie told me that she gave Bella…Cayla’s dog…..a witchen with my switch. For what, I asked? She was being bad, she tried to bite me. Well, the truth be known she was pulling her ears or tail. I guess she decided she would try the witch out on Bella!!!
